Read the reviews about this historical Cafe' and walked away pleasantly surprised and full. Had a great breakfast. The waitress was quick, friendly, funny and accommodating. The place was packed! Lots of good choices for breakfast. The cook was quick and friendly and yes, his hair was covered up with a bandana and did not hang down. Thought this place... More

To be honest I don't think I've been to a place that's so filthy it's almost creepy, very scary...The food was being prepared my someone with long hair that was hanging over the food even tied up it saw still falling off the sides I guess that's for the hippy look, whatever, we waited 25 mins to get in to... I love this place. Breakfasts are always great--they make a mean crepe and the pepper jams are really great. I first tasted them almost 20 years ago here and have been making them ever since--inspiring cuisine. They use fresh seafood in their daily specials board, which is where I usually order from.

We always go to the Columbian for breakfast when in Astoria. It's our kinda diner. This time the lights were broken in the booth. We pulled up the cord of the light and it was cut in the middle. Ha! Seemed right. The food is good, the potatoes are great, they refill your coffee often, the jams & salsas are... More

I felt like I had flashed back to a time when formica was the cats meow. The walls are covered in so many interesting things that you can be easily lost. The food was great. Small place, open grill so you can see everything being made. Went twice. Would totally go again.

This is a longtime favorite for breakfast or brunch. The eggs and crepes are excellent. Do not miss the pepper jellies!

We went to this cafe, hearing great things about it. I don't know if we caught them in a bad day or what - but pretty much everything about this restaurant was abysmal. First - the food - asked for 2 hard eggs - came to me barely cooked - yolk running all over. The grilled potatoes were grilled on... More

Second time to this restaurant - first time many years ago. Had high expectations for the food. In general very good, but not memorable. Large portions - wish I had split my plate with someone. Salmon in the hash was tasty, but the hash had too many carrots and lots of other root vegetables - a good mixture, just too... More

Ate breakfast here. Sat at the bar to get a good feel for the cafe. We loved the daily omelet with shrimp and crab. Bread was amazing. Local and tourists both but it does cater to more locals. That's why we go. Def give it a try,
