This place is a total whole in the wall, which is my favorite type of place. We got the special of dungeoness crab w/shrimp omelets and mimosa's and both were great. They did not skimp on the seafood!

My wife and I ate there Easter Morning. Maybe not your tipical Easter Buffet. We really enjoyed breakfast. We split the Chef Mercy. I have been told I am sort of a control freak. This took some courage to order but we enjoyed the creation the young chef prepared. In reality it changed our cullinary world that morning. I just prepared... More

Seriously, the toast is so good, I ate it even though I can't eat butter. Serious pain ensued. Worth every bite. The jalapeno jelly is a score. The chef is top notch- like watching an artist. The service is fast passed but kind. Small spot with very out of date atmosphere, but you wouldn't have it any other way once... More

We don't often get to Astoria but when we do we eat here. At first glance it may look a bit seedy, I call it comfortable. If you are in a hurry you need to find another place. One chef, one grill, one server so settle in, drink your delicious and locally roasted coffee and chill. The menu has a... More

Read the reviews about this historical Cafe' and walked away pleasantly surprised and full. Had a great breakfast. The waitress was quick, friendly, funny and accommodating. The place was packed! Lots of good choices for breakfast. The cook was quick and friendly and yes, his hair was covered up with a bandana and did not hang down. Thought this place... More

To be honest I don't think I've been to a place that's so filthy it's almost creepy, very scary...The food was being prepared my someone with long hair that was hanging over the food even tied up it saw still falling off the sides I guess that's for the hippy look, whatever, we waited 25 mins to get in to... Sorry you felt that way. We actually have highest score possible with the health dept. I know we are old and kinda worn (90 years of being a continuously operating cafe). But the floors and counters are cleaned and bleached twice daily and all state cleanliness rules strictly adhered to. As for our chefs, we do not discriminate on hiring... More

I love this place. Breakfasts are always great--they make a mean crepe and the pepper jams are really great. I first tasted them almost 20 years ago here and have been making them ever since--inspiring cuisine. They use fresh seafood in their daily specials board, which is where I usually order from.

We always go to the Columbian for breakfast when in Astoria. It's our kinda diner. This time the lights were broken in the booth. We pulled up the cord of the light and it was cut in the middle. Ha! Seemed right. The food is good, the potatoes are great, they refill your coffee often, the jams & salsas are... More

I felt like I had flashed back to a time when formica was the cats meow. The walls are covered in so many interesting things that you can be easily lost. The food was great. Small place, open grill so you can see everything being made. Went twice. Would totally go again.

This is a longtime favorite for breakfast or brunch. The eggs and crepes are excellent. Do not miss the pepper jellies!
