Compared with other fancy (or fancier) restaurants in the same are, this "tiny" pasta bar is non-pretentious and offers very good pasta in a reasonable price. The place is really just a bar with a couple of stools overlooking the cooking area, and there are 3 or 4 small tables scatter around the walkway that each could seat 2 people... More

We had Grano a couple nights ago. My family (wife, 8 year old son and 5 year old daughter) really recommend this place. My wife's Italian from SW Philly so she is particular about good pasta. We had takeout though. This Grano (there's a larger one literally down the street less than a mile away) is really just a pasta... More

My friend and I went here for new year's eve! I had a mushroom ravioli that was FANTASTIC. My friend had the lasagna, which she loved. We had bread, and literally wiped our plates so clean they looked unused. Everything was fantastic. Great place to celebrate. I've been here many times before. The food is consistently delicious. The staff is... More

This is where to go for the best tomato sauses'! A very small place, with very limited seating, the pasta here is excellent! It's not a large menu, and you have very limited personal space.....and yet it has become a fast favorite!

The difference between a very good and excellent rating for Grano's in the winter is you really MUST specify a location for your table when making a reservation. We did not and even with a reservation had THE least desirable table in the place. Be sure you specify a table either upstairs or toward the rear. Why? Because it is... More

The waitress and "chef" are very friendly. We sat at the bar and watched our meal being heated from pre cooked pastas and pre made sauces. Menu options consist of pick your pasta and sauce. Everything was simple and tasty except for the cold tasteless bread that we were charged an additional $3.00 for. The meal was underwhelming, it is... More

Must.Go. Excellent food. Informal and cozy, definitely not much elbow room, but that's part of the charm. Was fun to sit at the bar and observe the cooking. Will definitely go back.

My wife had been craving Pasta Carbonara for a while now, and we had made a note of Grano when we noticed it on their menu. They are on a corner of the Avenue in Hampden, and they are a lot smaller on the inside than I was expecting. Most of the space is taken up by the counter, but... More

WE often wind up here on cool evenings, to split a bowl of homemade pasta with the special of the night. You cannot beat the fresh anchovies and olives appetizers, great cannolis and super meatballs. Oh and any of the homemade pasta is sinful!

We were there for lunch. I have to admit, no ambiance, but the food was good. There were different pastas and toppings. You could get the toppings w/o the pasta. I didn't see a choice of any whole wheat pastas. Fun for a quick lunch.
