We stopped in for breakfast before a stroll through Forsyth Park. This "green" restaurant offers great coffee, delicious food/pastry (my husband loved the blueberry chocolate muffin) and a very friendly atmosphere.

Our first morning in Savannah sent us in search of coffee and breakfast. We drove by the Sentient Bean and went in with the intention of just having some coffee. We ended up adding on some coffee cake and the Big Daddy, a breakfast sandwich comprised of ciabatta, egg, vegan sausage, red onion , spinach, tomato and spicy mayo. Both... More

This place is wonderful. Has awesome vegan options. I ate the breakfast tacos. So good. My other friends are not vegans. One had the omelette, another ate the quinoa bowl and the third person ate the granola and yogurt. Everyone was very happy. Coffee is very good.

We enjoyed their coffee and had some nice lunch salads with vegetable and protein. The staff was nice although everything took a long time to prepare.

breakfast is hearty and healthy here! And many vegan options too (place is all vegetarian). The vegan breakfast burrito is great-- tofu scrambles, house "sausage", spinach, black beans and a spicy sauce. YUM!

Picked up our rental car and stopped here for a light breakfast on our was to Wormsloe. Just a couple of egg and cheese croissant but very good, croissants themselves were light and flakey. Good coffee also. Appeared to be only locals when we visited which was a nice change of pace.

Food here was awesome. They've got an artsy hipster vibe going. Not really into it, but the paninis were absolutely delicious. Nothing special in the decor, but they keep it clean and everyone working there is super friendly.

Visited the sentient bean during a week day, found the people friendly and the facility clean and unique. I had the Greek isles panini which was very good. The restaurant is located right next to forsyth park, also worth a visit.

Description
Since the Bean (as it’s known in the neighborhood) opened its doors in 2001, we’ve tried to make decisions that are good for our customers, our community, and our environment. Strangely enough, we also believe that this way of doing business is good for the bottom line. Our fair-trade coffee is organic, as is our produce and most of our staple ingredients. We are committed to using locally grown ingredients as much as possible, don’t fry anything, and make most of our food from scratch. We are vegetarian, and very vegan and gluten-free friendly! In 2008 we got rid of disposable plastic ware and we continue to recycle and compost. We host almost nightly events organized by members of the community and we strive to be welcoming to even the strangest among us. Check out our website for upcoming events.
