This used to be my favorite local BBQ place but the recent change to Magnolia Smokehouse have made some changes to the menu that have not gone down well. The decor has definitely been updated to a slightly more up-market style which is probably preferred by more people but having a family with two small children, the older decor was... More

Now under new ownership! Same reliable food, family-friendly atmosphere, family-friendly prices. The new downstairs lounge seems hipster-friendly and was pretty packed on a Friday evening.

Probably won't return. This is average barbeque at best. Service is friendly, but disorganized. Sides were good, but I was surprised that you needed to order a larger combo to get 2 of them.

This was a favorite of mine as they serve beef ribs. These ribs are not an expensive cut but they keep on raising the rice and making the portion smaller. 3 pieces which does not have that much meat is now about $26 before tax, tip and then they charge for fries and some other things. Very good food but... More

First off, is this place Texan, Southern, or Western? It has an identity complex but that's not the main problem. The food is expensive and just not that good. For those looking for a late night drink in Brookline Village though, this place serves usually until at least 1 AM.

Friendly service and tasty food. Good sized portions for the price of the meals but I thought the combo app was small. Good in a pinch, I would not hurry back there are better choices in the GBA.

We had the full chicken wings (shared order) plus a plate of brisket and shared Texas size beef ribs The ribs and chicken wings are to die for - The Brisket is very tender but not as extraordinary as the ribs They taste of smoke and the sauce is tasty and does not overwhelm Samuel Adams on tap and a... Awesome spot in Brookline Village for some meat candy. Interesting decor and friendly staff. The ribs and margaritas are always the tops. The corn bread always comes out hot and fresh. Just make sure to ask for extra wet naps.

Had a very nice meal. Ribs, chicken, salmon among our meals. Nice smokey flavor and I like they offered sauce on the side, light or heavy. Friendly service, nice experience. Will return again.

Revisited an old favorite last night, back when they opened in 1987 they were the first and only BBQ joint in Massachusetts and on top of that, they were GOOD. 29 years later and they are still smokin', just they haven't evolved (although the menu is bigger) at all and other places (Sweet Cheeks, Blackstrap, and of course BTs) have...
