Zaftigs has a special spirit. It's got great food, it's cool and never hyper. It's just right. This is a rare thing to say about anything or anybody these days.

Went here for lunch and was disappointed. The Latkas were okay but the cold borscht was terrible, not sure how fresh it was

This was our second attempt at Zaftigs. Since it has such good ratings we tried breakfast again. The service is above average but not great (slow to bring check/refill coffee). The french toast, my kids ordered the chocolate and the challah, looks wonderful but is very undercooked. Mushy best describes these dishes. My breakfast BLT had fatty floppy bacon (I... More

Not too busy on a weekday. I got chicken matzo ball soup and the sampler appetizer with the potato pancake, noodle Kugel, meat knish, and cheese blintz. The soup and blintz were my favorites, but the knish and potato pancake with homemade applesauce were also good). The breakfast items, breads, pickles, and sandwiches looked good also. I may have to... More

Busy for a reason. There was a wait at 10:00 on Sunday, so plan for that! Food choices were extensive for breakfast and sandwich items. The orange juice tasted like fresh squeezed and the quiche was packed with spinach and mushrooms. Coffee was fine, and refilled continuously. Service was attentive and family friendly. This is a popular breakfast destination- Brookline... More

Looking for a great deli. Then stop in to Zaftigs in Brookline. Corn beef done right stacked in a onion role with a slice of Swiss. Sat at the bar and watched as they cranked out beautifully crafted sandwiches. One after another. Coke slaw outstanding. Pickle just right the new kind not to sour. This Texan will return.

While the reviewer who stated delis are better in NY isn't wrong, Zaftig's is a deliciously decent deli in the Boston area. Loved the noodle kugel, potato knish, potato latke and the like on the combo plate, but also devoured the unconventional black bean veggie burger (that roll!) and fabulous fries. Service was excellent, the waiters and waitresses are quite... More

Great food, great prices, great menu and great service. We ate there three times in three days stay because there was so much on the menu we wanted to try. Alll good, some great meals! Staff was super nice and recognized us on our returns. Highly recommend!
