We have been eating here for 35 years. A long way from fancy, counter with stools a few inside tables and new over the years outside table and chairs. Carolina style bbq a good sandwich fries or onion rings, shake or coke. Ribs are new they have never met expectations. But the bbq has been served as numerous gatherings in... More

Was in the mood for some barbecue and this place seemed to have the highest rating. Service was very friendly, but food was mediocre. I had ribs, my husband had pork plate. Nothing tasted very smoky. Nothing was especially good. Do not recommend.

While taking in some of the historical sites of Fredericksburg we also wanted to try some good Virginia Barbecue. We made sure we arrived after 3:00 pm so we could get the ribs. My wife and I ordered the full rack of ribs, which came with two sides and a bun. The ribs were big, meaty, tender, smoky and perfectly... More

Having grown up in the area, but living elsewhere but in town for lunch, thought I should check the place out. Love the look. The BBQ sandwich was OK but not as great as I was expecting. Not much of a bun, but very good quantity of meat. The side of slaw was interesting, tasted OK, but will not go... More

The pulled pork and coleslaw are fantastic! Grammy also thought the coffee was good. The service was courteous and fast. Outside seating was delightful.

Pulled pork sandwich was awesome! The service however was lacking. Next time I go I would order to go instead.

A visit to Fredericksburg is not complete without a visit to Allman's. It is an old-fashioned BBQ diner - with diner prices and outstanding BBQ. Try the traditional VA vinegar BBQ sauce or ask for the delicious, homemade brown sugar BBQ sauce. Pulled pork sandwiches & platters with the best corn bread I have had in decades. Fantastic milk shakes... More

Not a fancy place, but really good pulled pork! All the best meat, no gristle or tendons like you get occasionally.

Had lunch with daughter who is attending UMW and had a wonderful lunch. Portions sizes are big and took some home for later. Eat in dining is limited to about 30-35 people and it can get a bit crowded...but worth the wait.
