After waking around downtown I spotted quirky restaurant named Soapy Smith, using huckster name is unusual so decided to try. Owner explained menu and took our orders. I ordered Rubin sandwich using pastrami instead of corned beef and wife ordered fish and chip. Wife said...More

All I can really say is don't go to Soapy Smith's EVER! Besides only 2 people waiting on people, the lady if you can call her that was very nasty - mainly because so many people actually came there to eat. She blamed it on...More

The restaurant is located on 2nd street. The area becomes a little, uncomfortable at night, Next door to patrons were screaming and cursing at each other. Once we got passed that situation we entered the restaurant. We were met by a highly effective waiter. He made...More

Place was hopping. They were so busy and there were only two serves but they got all tables served with a smile. Food was very good! French dip was tasty, hot and enough to satisfy a bears hunger! The second visit was the usual burger....More

We chose this place simply because of the name. What couldn't be more unique? Lol. They had a well rounded menu, but we chose sandwiches and soup for supper. I had a local beer, he had a good selection, and it was very good. I...More

We were on the Fairbanks City tour and came across this restaurant. It seemed to be the choice of most the people on our tour. The food was good and the legend of Soapy Smith was very interesting....Loved the decorations as well. Totally recommend this...More

Stopped here because of the recommendation of a bus driver. We'd heard the legend of Soapy Smith and thought it might be a nostalgic, Alaskan place. We were a bit disappointed as its simply a little diner style restaurant with really nothing special to speak...More

Go to their website and check. It appears their hours vary according to the season. We were there last week (5/26) and the hours were 11-5:30. When I just looked online, the hours today are 11:00-10:00.
