Zagat says this place is a "hipster magnet," but that was not our experience. On a recent Sunday night it was full of just regular, but not particularly hip looking, Brooklyn types. Very much a neighborhood place. Small, attractive, friendly, somewhat funky, and hard to find unless you knew where you were going. In an old part of Brooklyn that... More

I have eaten at Vinegar Hill House on another occasion and had an excellent meal, otherwise I would give this place 1 star. New Year's Eve here was awful. It was crammed full of people. Wait service was surly and non existent. The food was absolutely awful. My friend paid $20 extra for truffles on his dish and it was... More

It's something that I still look forward to every time I go back to NYC. The food is very delicious, the place is very clean and best of all the staff are very helpful. It's amazing. The ribs are to die for.

Dined here twice recently including set dinner for Thanksgiving. Food was delicious, particularly the red wattle chop and the cast iron chicken, so too the obligatory turkey on our second visit. What amazed us - was the lack of a simple dry sparkling wine by either glass or bottle e.g. a prosecco, cava or simple new world dry sparkling. The... More

Suggested by friends from NYC. Excellent food (no matter what you like and choose, it is evident the quality of food, here, is top-standard, as well as its preparation). Excellent wine (my partner is French, and I am Italian: we do know what we are talking about). Excellent service (smart, educated, competent, friendly, young). Excellent "ambiance" (good lighting, good music,... More

Walked across Manhattan bridge through this Brooklyn neighbourhood to meet an old friend and could NOT believe I had never been there. Loved the atmosphere, loved the food and loved to explore after. A must do.

The menu is limited here but you can't go wrong with the pork chop. Absolute perfection. Top quality meat grilled to just the right temperature. The rillette appetizer was excellent too, although more of a pork pate in style. The pear and fennel salad was surprisingly good. Others had pasta and chicken, all of which were fine, but the chop... Wow! What a killer dinner we had at Vinegar Hill House. We started with charcuterie - home made, of course. Moved on to the roast chicken (someone else was ordering or I'd never have tried that). It was scrumptious. We also had a pasta dish and the squash side. Everything was super tasty, the service was perfect and the atmosphere... More

First visit to this very unique restaurant. We had a pre-wedding brunch there with our son and family. All of the offerings were great - as we like to share. Sourdough apple pancakes are awesome, as well as the eggs benedict, and the specials of the day. Comfortable atmosphere and good staff/service. A place to go when in Brooklyn, New... More

A friend highly recommended here! Full of people during dinner time! Need reservation in advance. Interior decoration is average. Very strong oily smell in the restaurant! Waitress is no very pleasant! The glasses had very strong detergent smell! Food is average! Price is average!
