My husband and I took the day off and it was a perfect day to do that because the weather was perfect. We decided to just enjoy the day by just going to different restaurant for small bits. We had the beet salad with half loaf of bread we brought our wine with us, there is a small fee $7.00.... More

I didn't expect from this Russian place to be so clean. I was surprised to see their very clean open kitchen, normally such place are dirty in the kitchen area. Good service. The food was very good as well. Nice, will recommend to the friends. The only problem was to find the parking.

One reviewer said "Street meat with a dining room". Well, in a strange way this fits with my view, except to me it is a compliment. I always hear my friends from other parts of the world say how road side food is the best, and here it may be applicable. The place is so popular they do not take... More

Interesting menu, one great feature, staff will give you a tablet that shows what the food you are interested looks like. Some of the menu items are unfamiliar names but with the guide you can see what it is and know what you are ordering. Food is very reasonable, main course of shish=kabob is around $5.00 and more importantly very... More

A little more space would help but that doesn't make it a problem. We have been going to the Nargis for quite some time and it hasn't disappointed us yet. The menu is fairly simple and traditional for the Uzbek cuisine, Samsa, Lagman, various Kabobs but everything is so tasty and well prepared it's unbelievably tasty. I always take a... More

The place was pleasant and friendly; the atmosphere gave us non-Brooklyn feeling, a bit of exotic. We were surrounded by the people speaking foreign language (Russian? Uzbek?), including all service staff. The service was fast, attentive, and friendly, although the waitress made a mistake on a drink I ordered. We wanted to experience Uzbek cuisine, therefore, we did not pick... More

The usual crowd sourced hype drove us here. After a huge schlep from the boardwalk we then were hit with a very long wait. Staff was efficient and pleasant and based on a peek at the cyber menu we had high hopes. Started with 'Non" crispbread (extra charge) which was akin to stale matzoh and then a couple salads; radish... More

Driving down Coney Island Avenue, I noticed Nargis Cafe several times before I decided to try it out... I wish I didn't!!! The service is very poor, the food is cheap but the bill is high and they expect that you tip on top of a 10% "service charge", which includes tax, so you tip the IRS(!!!), and the smell... More

not much ambiance but fast and delicious food if you like Russian/ Uzbek cuisine. Very inexpensive, it was overcrowded on Saturday night but we were still able to have a dinner conversation despite loud "neighbors". Menu offers nice variety with some vegetarian choices.

This is a place with tasty inexpensive meal. Good cafe for fans of shesh kebabs and other Uzbek food . In the evening always overcrowded, but you can make a reservation; they have seats inside and outside. Place is clean. They provided very friendly and quick service. Absolutely a place to stay for a quick but nice and good dinner.... More
