Super tasty food and fun staff. Brunch at colonie is always a positive experience. I highly recommend it for out of town tourist and nyc residents.

Very good but not 5 stars. Excellent cocktails. Great cheese/charcuterie boards. Very good crostini and salads. However, the pastas fall a little short of where everything else is on the menu. In any case, still very much worth visiting.
I had an extraordinarily good meal here. I was sat at the bar in front of the open kitchen, and it was fun to watch--and smell--all the wonderful food being prepared. And chat w/ Jared, the chef, a little bit. He explained that he'd just taken over the helm a few weeks ago. The menu was inspired. I don't know... More
I had the eggs bene, which is pretty much the only thing I eat when I go to brunch. The portion was huge and the eggs were perfectly cooked.
This was our second visit in the last month. It's a very cool place with a big reputation (hard to get in etc). The food is really good and highly creative. It's a fun experience. EXCEPT, tonight the service was "cold", taking us for granted. Maybe our waiter had too many tables tonight or just an off night. The vibe... More
Arrived for Sunday brunch and expected something better. The menu was limited, in my view, and overly pretentious. The Bloody Mary was weak and blandly presented. The servers were in a freaking hurry, trying to rush us through. The bathroom was too dark and the experience in general was "meh". Overpriced, overhip, boring.
After a busy day touring Governors Island and the Whitney Museum and several places in-between, and having made the mistake of going to a tourist trap restaurant, my son found Colonie which was on our way back to our hotel in Brooklyn so we decided to walk in and give it a chance. What a stroke of luck. Excellent unique... More
Colonie is a very popular spot. We loved the atmosphere - lively, friendly, casual. The bar up front is bright with a standing area with a counter to set drinks down on in addition to the bar with seats. The dining area in the back is dark and bustling. Staff was very friendly both in the bar area and dining... More
Party of nine arrived for dinner at 8pm on a quiet Sunday night 7/3. Service to start was prompt, but someone dropped the ball with the dinner order. At first, it was "hmm..dinner is taking long" but at no point did anyone come over to explain the situaton, or ask if we wanted dirnks. It was only after we had... More
