Thin crust fabulousness. Always a wait but BYOB is a bonus. Never had a cheaper check anywhere else for something so good.

I like pizza and there's a lot of good pizza in NY. I have friends who swear lucali is the best pizza in the city. They have only a handful of toppings to choose from and no menu. So you can make whatever you want. It's byob making it affordable. Wait can frequently exceed 2 hrs. If you go when... More

We had dinner here last Friday night and it was soooo good! We got there at 5:30 (they open at 6) so we could put our name in for a table. Even at that time, the earliest we could get in was 8 PM. Plan to wait, but it was worth it. Fresh tasting ingredients, thin crust with the right... More

Lucali is in our neighborhood in Carroll Gardens Brooklyn and we always take out of town friends there because it is GREAT! The menu is simple and the pizza is phenomenal. The calzone is definitely of the best I have ever had. Dont forget to order garlic and basil (free of charge) on everything! The staff is friendly and efficient... More

Amazing old school style pizza. Always flavorful. The atmosphere is classic old New York. That's all a NY pizzeria should be. Keep it that way.. please!

I like Lucali but came here with friends who 1) didn't like the service (they did really try to push us out the door) 2) the pizza they found to be excellent but not so much better than other wood fired places. You also make your own pizza so there are no pizzas you can order off of a menu.... More

No need to review Lucali's. The effort reduces it to the "just like" status of most restaurants. Are people going to refuse an invitation to the French Laundry? Lucali's is special because their pizza is the essential quality of the food type--the best ingredients, exacting technique impeccably practiced, and carefully baked in a wood fired oven to the perfect symmetry... The pizza and calzone here are incredible and consistently delicious...but I've never dined in! There always a cattle-at-the-trough-like line at the door ever since Beyonde and Jay B ate there! Ordering food and picking it up through the charming and patient hostess Alex is such a breeze though. The food actually travels well unlike other transported pizzas. I'm not quite... More

Lucali was recommended to us by someone in the area. It is a quaint brick oven pizza place, with maybe 50 seats at most. The restaurant opens at 6pm, but people line up ahead of time...that's how good it is! They begin taking reservations at 5pm, so it is not a bad idea to get there around 4:30 or 4:45... More

A friend and colleague lives around the corner from here, and for a while he's been saying we had to go to Lucali. We finally had a chance to do so, and we went last night. All in all I'd say the pizza is very good. I see a ton of reviews on TripAdvisor claiming it's the best pizza they've... More
