At the Palace Hotel, we asked the desk clerk for a recommendation of a 'local' restaurant that she'd eat at. Without any hesitation, she recommended Nancy's Silver Café. Great suggestion. The Café was only a few blocks away. Nancy's is an old fashioned café right out of the 1950s/1960s - long narrow with high ceilings; booths along the walls with... More

Silver City is full of places to eat but I decided to try this local cafe with a feel of a diner on a Thursday night. It was quite popular and almost all of them seemed to be locals. We tried the Mexican food and were very pleased. It's not a trendy place but a nice selection of home cooking.

People raved about Nancy's, but we found it to be only average. To be fair, we live where there is an abundance of good New Mexican food, so are a bit spoiled. Breakfasts are cheap and the clientele is clearly local so it must be pretty good. Service was good but the food was rather slow to arrive on what... More

We were in town visiting family. Both my wife and I grew up in silver city and live in tucson now. We don't miss a trip to the silver cafe when we are in town. Sometimes we go for breakfast and again later in the day. They have the best green chili in town and beats any of the restaurants... More

I came here with my family and the place was tiny, we barely fit. We waited and waited for our food and when we got it it was greasy and had no flavor. If you want a cheap place to eat rubbery food you can get at Walmart, you can come here.

This place is underrated. We stopped in on a whim (the little grocery store next door wasn't yet open) and had a great breakfast. I had the green huevos rancheros with a side of corn tortillas and my husband had the steak and eggs. Both were great. It's a classic, hometown diner. It's clean, owned and run by women (Nancy's... This greasy spoon has been open FOREVER!!! And for a good reason. Basically I can describe the food here as a meal that my grandmother would make when angry. Simple and filling.

Like being at your home town Cafe. We stopped by for breakfast and was treated like family. Not to mention that the food was very good...nice portions and served fast. The 'girls' staff were very pleasant and easy to banter with.

Great spot to enjoy authentic local cuisine. Red and green chili are both the real deal but the green can't be passed up. We meet friends here often. Delicious juevos rancheros for breakfast.

Reminds me of that hole in the wall place you find and luck out on the menu. Food was good and prices great, especially for large groups. The only reason I give it a lower rating is the service. One waitress, while 3 stood in the back. She was not enthusiastic to say the least.
