Passed this place & we were immediately drawn to the owner. Lovely lady with a cheeky smile & good natured. She had the kind of laugh you were drawn to & couldn't help but laugh with her. Decided to go in for a drink & then we had food. Glad we did. Really amazing home cooked food and amazing prices.... More

I ate at Warung Mekar 3 times and each time was a great experience. Made and Putu were so hospitable and the food was excellent on each occasion. I had a great time spending time talking to both and enjoying the food prepared for me. It's easy to miss and walk past but don't, stop by for a meal and... More

Looking for bike rental in Amed, we found that place. Good price, kind people, really refreshing to meet this familly. The food is cheap and excellent (one of the best restaurant during my 3 weeks stay in Bali). Their cousin manage our transfert to Balian foe a good price when we leave. I recommend without hesitation. Thanks guys, take care...

We were tempted into this restaurant by the owner but unfortunately we had just had our dinner. He showed such enthusiasm for his menu and told us how he was the chef, working only with his wife. We spoke about his fish dishes and sure enough when we went the following evening he immediately remembered the dish he had recommended;... More

And by character, I am referring to the cook who owns this Warung with his lovely wife. We were tempted in by their charm and we did not regret it. Whilst the food took a little while to come, that was simply down to the fact that everything was made from scratch and you really could tell. Fresh fish, spicy... More

When we sat down for dinner we where the only couple in this warung. It's not on the beach but you can't see the sea when it's dark ;) The owners made a very very very nice meal for us (we put a picture on TA as well): they called it the special or rijsttafel. We didn't know you normally... More

We visited this little gem twice. The second time just to have the spring rolls. We walked past one night and it was empty - we were on our way to Warung Enak. On our way back Made was there and we had a look at the menu. It was still empty. W epromised we would return the next night.... More

Warung Mekar is a small local restaurant run by a husband and wife team, Made and Putu. The food is cooked with love and passion. Made and Putu are so friendly and welcoming and take pride in their service. The spring rolls are absolutely delicious and request the sambal as it is freshly made for each serve. When in Amed...
