The service was amazing! The menu was limited and the price was high. But, probably spot on compared to other hotel restaurants in the area. We had the fish fry. One out of the three pieces I had only had minimal fish in it. But, the overall taste was great.

My wife and I went for Madison's Restaurant week. Overall it was fair. My beet salad was fantastic. My main course, which was a fish I had not heard of before, was only fair. Chocolate cake for desert was good. My wife felt her meal was also good, but not great. I am unlikely to go here again, though if... More

Reviewing The Wise is tough. What they do well, they do very well, but there are so many problems I just can't rate them highly. The ambiance is very good,,,,urban chic done well, the staff are friendly and work hard to give you a great experience. As with a previous reviewer, my main problem is that they are 'out' of... I've been there twice - both times miserable experiences. They don't have chardonnay choices (they ran out); bartenders and waitresses make up excuses - the wine truck comes tomorrow, we're not usually busy on Sundays, we're short staffed.....Two hours for pasta (Hamburger Helper would have been better); salad (really small and dressing on when I asked for on the side);... Some crazy combinations of food. We really like the chorizo stuff dates (wrapped in bacon!). The staff was friendly and knowledgeable when we went. Outdoor seating at tall tables was nice and gave a good people watching perspective on the nearby trail.

You'd never guess this was a restaurant in a hotel... The ambiance at The Wise was unbelievable, and the food was outstanding. Big shout out to the wait staff and Sunday brunch cook, TC! I had no idea a place like this could exist in Wisconsin... The industrial theme (concrete floors, exposed ducts, modern furniture, etc.) made us feel like... More

Terrible meal...where do I begin. Wine list consists of cheap wines, dinner salad was a bowl full of old greens with nothing. Meal was tasteless. . Server was very slow. I don't mind spending $$ but let's upscale this place a bit.. I don't think so.

After a long day of traveling and shopping, we settled into The Wise for some wine and snacks. We shared some small plates and spent a couple of hours just relaxing and talking. Service was great, we did not feel rushed or pressured. A great place to go with that special someone.

The wine list is exceptional and both mine and my partner's entrees were very tasty. I had the prawns and he had the burger. Well prepared with attentive service.

Great food made with flavorful, fresh, local ingredients. A wonderful surprise to find that our hotel had such a great restaurant. We ate here several times. Best of all, the chef and staff were well trained in preparing a meal for my severely food allergic child. It's not easy to find a restaurant that understands how to do it. It... More

The Wise is a great meeting place for lunch, cocktails and evening dining. We host a number of events and neighborhood gatherings each month as well serving our plated weekend brunch on Saturday and Sundays. Seasonal food and drink menus focus on area producers, farmers and ranchers. Badger fans love the view of Camp Randall stadium and the Vilas/Monroe Street area is an amazing part of town! Stop in and see us for William Hill Wednesday with LIVE music by Patrick Ferguson and $5 glasses of William Hill wine.
