When I was suggested this place to celebrate my wife's birthday, I was very nervous since I had not heard of this place. Trusting in God, we went there with family and friends. I am so happy to say that it was not a wrong decision. The food is excellent if you are a Thai food lover. The whole fish... More

Before Estrellón, this was the only decent tapas place in town. They have a nice selection of both more traditional and new creative tapas. Overall they are tasty. I've never had something I didn't like, though there are a few items that were nothing to write home about, and others that were sublime. Its been a year since I've eaten... More

Several reviews mentioned the word "overpriced" when describing this place but I found The Icon to be typical of a tapas restaurant. My wife and I liked the "movie-themed" atmosphere and that, even on a very busy night we could still carry on a conversation. We found the service to be attentive and prompt, they had a nice selection of... More

My favorite restaurant in downtown Madison. We went there on a Saturday night to escape from the college students who where hitting the bar scene. We wanted "an adult place to hang out". We had five different tapas and my wife had a mojito and I had a gin martini. The food was great and the drinks were perfect. If... More

Went there before a concert at the Overture First- you may have read online that you get discount if you have tickets from overture. BUT the discount only applies if you go AFTER the concert and not before it. Second, their bacon-wrapped dates are the best on the menu. Third: Avoid duck breasts as they are below average. We also... More

The food and drinks were tasty, but severely overpriced. I would have been just as happy at a cheaper place, and everything would have been just as yummy. An asparagus appetizer cost $5 and it was LITERALLY two stalks. To be fair, it is a tapas bar. You're really paying for the ambience, so if that's your thing, you'll enjoy... More

I love the icon for late night fare in Madison. It's probably the highest class dining you can get late in the city. They have an extensive and creative martini menu and great prices on an assortment of sangrias. I enjoy when they have DJs as well. My only complaint is that the service is slow and a bit lacking.... I've been to The Icon for late night drinks several times and am always happy with the drinks, service, value, atmosphere, etc. So, when we decided to go for dinner one evening, we were expecting it to be pretty great. I did appreciate the quick service and the prices ($3.95 tapas selections on Tuesday) but we weren't overly impressed with... More

I like the Icon. Its not the best, but it is a good place to go grab some drinks with your friends. Especially on Thursday nights, I believe they do half priced pitchers of Sangria, The food is a little pricey for the small tapas/quality. But if you are going with a group, it works well because you can split... More

Great location for tapas and drinks before or after a show at the Overture! I went here with one other prior to seeing Wicked; they had funny sounding cocktails to match the show. I passed as they sounded somewhat sweet and disturbing but cute. Ordered Spanish white wines (good, fairly priced), baked goat cheese (minimal goat cheese, lots of tomato... More
