Well, I was all excited to eat at the Jägerhaus. So after walking about 10 miles all over New Orleans I could barely wait to have a great German beer and some German food. Boy was I disappointed when I found out that they were closed and are moving to a different location. Before going I had checked out their... More

The place was not busy, only two other parties when we arrived and by the time we got our food, there was only one other party in the restaurant. I felt as if it took an extremely long time to get our food since it was quite empty. However, the food was very good. I had a German version of... More

We tried a few different dishes. All were cooked well. The service was a bit slow. But the food was very good. The smoke from the kitchen was filling the dining room up and it burned our eyes. The sever said some fan was broken. They also were out of wine? That was strange. But the food was very very... More

I was visiting the city and craving a good German meal. I came across the reviews raving about this place and decided to try it for dinner. I was there on a Wednesday night and they weren't busy. Being by myself I sat at the bar and the only other person at the bar had a computer. I assume he... More

Had stumbled upon Jagerhaus during our last visit to NOLA and promised ourselves we'd go back on our next trip. Which is exactly what we did. We decided to start with the Cheese Plate which was excellent. Our entrees were the Jagerschnitzel and Goulash. Both were excellent and filling. So filling that we sadly couldn't have dessert. We also found... More

We came across this unassuming little restaurant by chance and glad of it! The staff were very helpful and friendly and we wanted something a bit different from American fare . We both had the delicious German meatloaf along with sauerkraut ( have always had a weakness for this ) and just barely had room for the apple strudel. We... More

The Jagerhaus is a wonderful find for anyone that wants something other than Cajun or Creole cuisine in the Quarter. We started with the cheese plate and the pretzel. Both were really tasty but be warned. When they say the olives are "spicy" they mean "SPICY!" There were four in our group so we tried a variety. The veal was... More

Service was fast and friendly! Excellent German beers were available in a normal or Sasquatch size! The food was spot on! Some the best spätzle I've had (just don't tell my Oma!). From the schnitzel to the sausage this place was a delightful plate of Deutschland!

Description
We would like to invite you to the only German restaurant New Orleans has to offer. Our specialty is authentic home-style Bavarian and Bohemian cuisine. In addition, JägerHaus is also the only full service Lavazza coffee shop in New Orleans. When you visit our cozy German bistro in New Orleans, you will feel like you just stepped in to a nice little restaurant off the square somewhere in the middle of Munich or Prague.

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
