We completely stumbled into this place and had the best experience. The food, service, and atmosphere are all excellent. We ordered the cheese platter - so good. For our meals, we each got small entrees - bbq shrimp, scallops, crab, beef - and all were delicious. This place is a steal - I wish I could give it a higher... More

We stopped for happy hour and spent a pleasant hour or so people watching from our table outside. It was just a few feet away from the craziness of Bourbon Street. Our server was friendly and efficient. We each had a wine flight ($15 each), and we shared the cheese plate ($18) which was delicious. This, combined with the complimentary... More

Love this little hidden restaurant! Food and service is always top notch. It is convenient to the Bourbon Orleans Hotel and open late night.

We ordered 3-4 different dishes and ALL had bacon. In fact, the free appetizer were strips of bacon! The food was good although lukewarm (apparently the waiter spaced our dishes by letting them sit in the kitchen after they were already cooked not keeping them warm enough). Loved the warm bread.

We had booked an 8pm tour, and found ourselves running late and looking for a quick bite beforehand. Stumbled on this little gem and so glad we did! The four of us (plus one sleepy baby) had a fantastic early dinner on the sidewalk, enjoying parade atmosphere without being right in the middle of it. Salads were FANTASTIC, super fresh... More

We were a large group, so we made reservations ahead of time. They have a small dining area, pub environment and a nice courtyard, but we moved inside due to rain-like conditions. The service was excellent - they were friendly and quickly fixed any little hiccups with dinner. The food (broad choices) was very good and plentiful. Drinks for happy... More

The food in this restaurant was excellent. It is French bistro food combined with Cajun. The service was excellent and the staff was very friendly.

Just wandered into this place during our first night in the French Quarter. Got a nice table outside in the back. Kids devoured the bread and the unique tasting butter, then just had appetizers (BBQ shrimp, angus medallions and baked brie) which were a big hit and large enough for them - larger than most restaurants - I had the... Wandering past looking for dinner, we chose this restaurant because there was no wait. So glad we did. Food was great with a good selection and prices quite reasonable. Staff were excellent.

Description
This beautiful two-story building was erected in 1809 by Antoine Angué where he opened the Vieux Carré’s first Creole Bistro called, The Restaurant d’Orleans. Today, the property is owned by the noted local business team of Pam Fortner and Earl Bernhardt. Lovingly renovated with its prestigious past in mind, The Orleans Grapevine continues the tradition by offering discriminating diners the best in fine dining and an extensive wine list in a beautiful, intimate yet relaxed atmosphere. We feature many unique and seasonal special dishes & specials.

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
