Reviewed yesterday NEW

The service was awful. Took forever to seat us (6) and the service was appalling from seating us (made reservations) to having the waiter take just drink orders. Very disappointed as this is Ruth's Chris. I have been to several Ruth's Chris and never had this type of service. Now the food excellent like always. And it was not even... More

Ruth's Chris is not my favorite steak house, BUT it is always consistent with fresh food, good service, nice wine list by the glass. great wedge salad, good strip steak and baked potatoe (just don't tell my cardiologist.

This trip we had saved Ruth Chris as our special evening out for the trip, as we have never been disappointed at any of the locations in the past. This time my husband never finished most of his steak. It was so salty that it tasted like it had been soaked in brine. The texture also was very different. I... More

I ate here 3 times while staying at Harrah's Hotel. The lunch menu prices are very affordable for New Orleans. While we were there we also discovered that between 4:30 and 6:30pm, they have a reduced price menu if you sit at the bar. For example the burger and fries are $9 during this time. I don't know if the... More

We had a lovely dinner at Ruth Chris's in New Orleans. Our servers were professional and pleasant. Our steaks were perfectly done to our liking. We were happy that the sound system was not working that evening, so that we were able to talk to each other in the quiet.

We have waited a long time to try Ruth Chris's so decided while we were on vacation that we would give it a try. After all the hype we heard, we were actually a little disappointed. We ordered the shoestrings to go along with the steaks, and we wish we had not. They were like the shoestrings you get in... More

Had a sweet tooth and stopped in for some desert. They were both very good, White chocoltae bread pudding and Bannana Cream pie. High marks to the young lady who waited on us, very polite and courteous...

As always Ruth's Chris is a great American steakhouse experience. The steaks are big, the cocktails are great. Not cheap though!

This Ruth Chris is in the Harrah's Hotel. I love to sit in the elegant bar and know the martini will be made perfectly. It's our families favorite outside cafe spot also. When it's sunny we grab a table and order the best rare tuna appetizer and people watch . Inside is so beautiful and the happy staff makes you feel... More

This was our second time at the downtown location of Ruth's. The food and service here is excellent. We started off with bar b que shrimp appetizers and stuffed mushrooms. They were very good. Also had wedge salad , with excellent bleu cheese dressing, with chunks of bleu cheese and lots of bacon bits. Our filets were cooked as ordered... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
