Been stopping here for years, and the quality has not faded one bit. Shrimp po boys are deservedly worshipped, but I'm starting to feel cheated because that's all I ever order. This time, my wife (not really a shrimp fan) got a ham&cheese po boy and was blown away. Every visit I see locals here and they always seem to... More

Some of my favorite places in New Orleans are not the big name restaurants, but the neighborhood place. Rampart Street Food Store is one of those. Great poor boys. No seating, but delicious. Lots of locals - always a good sign and very reasonable.

The shrimp poboys at this unlikely place are memorable. Be prepared to share -- they are also enormous! And messy to eat! It's definitely worth a stop.

This out of the way gem is worth finding. It is one block east of Esplanade on Rampart. It is a "convenient"store with a chinese fast food in the back. They serve breakfast and lunch. Ameruican food and Asian. The shrimp poor boy is one of the best in NOLA. We had 2 beers and a foot long poor boy... More

Doesn't look like much from the outside, but their Shrimp po' boys are delicious. They are gigantic and the shrimp are huge. They also serve a delicious Yaka mein soup which is said to be the best in town, catfish po' boys, a variety of Chinese food, and standard food mart drinks and snacks. They cook all of the food... Back again, had the meals instead of the po'boys this time, and found that one meal would do two people, or three meals could fill five people etc. From the outside, the orange paint is weather-worn, but this mom'n'pop corner shop & fast food outlet punches well above it's weight. Something got lost in translation when the mandarin chicken turned... More

Also known as " the Orange Store", the Rampart Street Food Store is a great introduction to the New Orleans food experience. It is a convenience and liquor store, but the main reason you will go there is for the food window in the back. The shrimp are huge on this sandwich and the French bread sub roll is baked... More

This place is a local convenience with a great grill in the back. Awesome poboy selection. Portion sizes are huge and great value. We all got 2 meals out of each sandwich. Great drink selection as well. It's a spot where many locals go to grab lunch on the go!

We've had many poboy's in NOLA and I was skeptical but I must admit it was the best shrimp poboy I have ever eaten. Got a shrimp on french with lettuce, tomato, mayo, pickles and hot sauce. The shrimp was hand battered and cooked to perfection. Piled high with crispy shrimp the flavors were simple perfection. No fancy pickles -... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Faubourg Marigny & Bywater
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.
