We split a "shrimp sandwich" on French bread. It was toasted, huge, hot, and delicious. Graffiti on the outside. Locals on the inside. $6.99. We will return EVERY time we visit NOLA.

Some of my favorite places in New Orleans are not the big name restaurants, but the neighborhood place. Rampart Street Food Store is one of those. Great poor boys. No seating, but delicious. Lots of locals - always a good sign and very reasonable.
The shrimp poboys at this unlikely place are memorable. Be prepared to share -- they are also enormous! And messy to eat! It's definitely worth a stop.
