My husband and I went there for lunch date. We were met by friendly staff. It was a pretty day and could have chosen to sit on the patio with misting fans but chose to sit inside. We were promptly brought chips and their homemade...More

I've been looking for good Mexican food since moving to NOLA and I think I've found it. I had never heard of this place and some friends suggested we meet up. They gave us chips/salsa to start and the salsa was really good. I ordered...More

Always thought Velvet Cactus was a scene and overblown so stayed away from it but we found ourselves in the neighborhood on a rainy Friday so stopped in for lunch. Nice outdoor area that opens via garage doors to a somewhat dark but still appealing...More

Went there after a longer than expected walk through city park. Food and table service was adequate. Decided I needed a ride back to my hotel. Phone battery was dead after adventuring through the city. Neither waitress nor bartender would call a cab for me....More

Sorry this took so long to respond, but I am quite upset we did not accommodate you. We always call cabs and we also have cell phone charging stations. I am at a loss on this and sorry this happened to you. Thank you

The food is good but it takes forever to get it. The server was nice. The ambiance is rather loud and frantic. I might eat here again but I would make sure I did not need to be anywhere else soon.

Spent a wonderful Friday afternoon at the Velvet Cactus. We were seated outdoors in a festive patio area. One order of the Nachos Sencillo was more than enough for 2 adults - in fact we could not finish the mountain of yummy goodness. I had...More

Had the japaleno burrito, it was good but had more rice than meat in the stuffing. The queso dip was one of the best I have had. Very busy.
