This great for a cup of coffee or a cold drink , but food wise there are many better places close by. It is inside NOMA so it is convenient.

The cafe offers a simple but delicious menu. Not as heavy as your usual Southern food (butter, cream or fried). It's more like a European cafe than an American one. Highly recommended.

After spending few hours at City Park and NOMA we decided to get some lunch at the museum's caffe. You have to order at the counter and they will bring you food at the table. Service was good and food very tasty. I had a soup of the day - tomato basil and it was very good with nice texture!... More

We were spending the morning in the City Park, enjoying the free sculpture garden, and the lovely Botanical Garden ($6 each). We all worked up an appetite and the Cafe was convenient. We found the menu surprisingly agreeable and the prices fair for the portion sizes. I ordered the Spinach salad. It was large, fresh, and enjoyable. We were a... More

Nothing was particularly wrong with the restaurant but I didn't find the person who took our order at the counter very friendly and considering all of the fabulous dining options in NOLA, this is not one I would recommend.

A very convenient place to eat while visiting the NOMA. The food is fairly typical museum eats, sandwiches and salads. The restaurant was not very clean or picked up because of the many school children eating their lunch in the cafe. The servers tried their best but it wasn't a great dining experience for the adult visitors.

After a visit to NOMA with out of town friends, I stopped for a quick bite and had a great bowl of soup here.

I was starving after walking all morning and stopped for fortification in the museum before exploring. I was expecting some dreadful snack but was completely floored by the menu! The portabella mushroom sliders were absolutely fantastic! I have a new favorite tea, too! The decor is light and refreshing with views from large windows. The waitresses were helpful and sweet.... We had drinks, a quiche and chocolate chip cookie there for a light lunch. The quiche and cookie were fine, and so were the drinks. Nothing super memorable, but adequate. I somewhat expect museum food prices to be high, so these prices actually seemed decent. There were two women working there -- one making drinks (who was simply efficient and... More

When we were there is was very quite and calm, not a lot od people. The food was fresh and lite. Best ice tea I had food the entire trip. A little pricey but given the location I can understand why. Wonderful view out over the NOMA grounds.

Staying in Lakeview

Neighbourhood Profile
Lakeview extends inland from the shores of Lake Pontchartrain with much of the area reserved for family-friendly City Park. Home to the New Orleans Museum of Art, the Besthoff Sculpture Garden, Carousel Gardens Amusement Park, and the city’s own lush Botanical Gardens, City Park is a New Orleans gem and the perfect spot for outdoor fun with as much of a mix of culture and/or amusement as you would like. Beyond City Park more great excuses to stay outside beckon, whether on land or by boat. Developed a good deal later than most other New Orleans neighborhoods, Lakeview has a distinctively different look and feel compared to other parts of the city. Fans of mid century modern design and contemporary architecture particularly enjoy leisurely drives around the residential streets of Lake Vista, Park Island and along Lakeshore Drive.
