I ordered a very basic breakfast, scrambled eggs, grits, and coffee. The eggs were tasteless and I am almost certain they were made from a liquid egg product instead of actual cracked eggs. Coffee was so so, nothing made me say I couldn't wait to return. I was completely underwhelmed. The pastries looked good and I have heard they are... More

I was surprised by how many coffee and delicious dessert choices that were offered at Nola Beans! They offered decadent tall cakes, homemade cookies, and many other choices. They also have a selection of sandwiches, soups and other lunch items. This is SO much more than a coffee shop!

This is a pleasant if somewhat spare neighborhood coffee house. The coffee was good, not outstanding, but the pastries were excellent. We stopped by for a morning refuel, but next time will try the lunch, which looks more promising. Certainly this is a far better alternative than the mega-chains.

We love to sit a the food bar and had a previous experience there that was wonderful. This tome teh food was excellent again, but the only outstanding employee was Alex at the wood fire oven. She was amazing.

I enjoyed the grilled roast beef sandwich and cup of french onion soup for under $10.00 My friend enjoyed a beautiful salad with chicken, strawberries, and orange slices. The ingredients were very fresh and dressing was flavorful. Parking can sometimes be difficult at busy lunchtimes.

Staying in Lakeview

Neighbourhood Profile
Lakeview extends inland from the shores of Lake Pontchartrain with much of the area reserved for family-friendly City Park. Home to the New Orleans Museum of Art, the Besthoff Sculpture Garden, Carousel Gardens Amusement Park, and the city’s own lush Botanical Gardens, City Park is a New Orleans gem and the perfect spot for outdoor fun with as much of a mix of culture and/or amusement as you would like. Beyond City Park more great excuses to stay outside beckon, whether on land or by boat. Developed a good deal later than most other New Orleans neighborhoods, Lakeview has a distinctively different look and feel compared to other parts of the city. Fans of mid century modern design and contemporary architecture particularly enjoy leisurely drives around the residential streets of Lake Vista, Park Island and along Lakeshore Drive.
