Midway is locate din the heart of the Freret hood. They have a great ambiance, and they have great happy hour plus all-day beer specials on Tue and Wed.

Great, great pizza! We're from Chicago and were at the Milan Lounge (Cubs dive bar in NOLA!) watching the Cubs win the World Series. Midway delivered pizza to us. It was fantastic, with thick crust that Chicago pizza lovers appreciate!

The real deal. Fabulous deep dish with New Orleans touch. Zoe and Shannon are great servers. Pizza, King Leon, was awesome! Clean, open, friendly, big bar. Way Good.

Wonderful menu. Heavy on pizza selections with the specials being fabulous along with their appetizers and salads. Fun, eclectic atmosphere and a terrific staff. We love this place.

We arrived a little late in the evening for a bite but that was no problem at Midway. We ordered two pizzas to share and had one each of the thick and thin crust. Mixed reviews from our group as to which was best as both were good but I personally preferred the thick crust. Good selection of beer on... More

My husband and I eat here quite often. The pizza is really good (recommend the King Leon) but that's just the beginning. They have an excellent beer selection-draft and bottle, as well as a pretty extensive wine list. They have really tasty appetizers, and I second one of the other reviewers that the salads are unique and really good. My... More

This place had it all. Great atmosphere, super friendly and attentive service, delicious food, and reasonable pricing. It has a bar, but is very family friendly. We had the deep dish Uptown Meat pizza and Don Knotts appetizer, highly recommend both, one tea and two beers. Our bill w/out tip was $38 and we brought two slices home. Steve, the... More

Great setting in an original New Orleans building in a nice neighborhood. High ceilings, lots of windows and great decor. Have you ever heard of the music band 'Bread'? The owner plays great music which enhances the dining experience. Fresh ingredients and a wonderful buttery, flaky deep dish crust make this restaurant a 'don't miss this', kind of place. The... We eat here all the time. Their pizza is great, but be sure to also try their salads, they are especially good!

Yum! It's good thick-crust pizza. The topping combinations are delicious and plentiful. Service is friendly. But don't expect to be able to eat more than 2 pieces.

Thank Margaret C

Staying in Uptown / Carrollton

Neighbourhood Profile
Uptown / Carrollton
Very much their own self sufficient unit within the greater metro area, Uptown and Carrollton tone down the urban edge with a friendly attitude and collegiate feel. Home to Tulane and Loyola Universities, all the students living in the area ensure that Uptown and Carrollton stay youthful, cosmopolitan and vibrantly fun. Two of the liveliest thoroughfares for nightlife and socializing (and yes of course more of the city’s outstandingly good food and live music) are Oak Street and Maple Street. For a truly wild time, the expansive acreage of Audubon Park, with its zoo, golf course, and actual patches of swampy wetlands, means peace and quiet are never too far away.
