A classy and cool bar with lite bites to eat and a great selection of wine and beer and aray of drinks options in a nice setting with good live music with out the treck to frenchmen street on a great section in the garden district.

After having dinner we still had a few minutes before the music started down the street so we stopped in for drinks. It's quite a contrast to the old New Orleans feeling places, very modern, loud & hectic. It was absolutely fine but busy and took a bit longer than I would have liked to get a drink. There were... I rarely leave reviews but this visit was so terrible that I had to say something. We were visiting Canada and we were checking out live music at a bar just down the street from Oak. The band didn't start for another 2 hours, so we decided to walk down the street and maybe grab a drink and some appies.... More

We stopped in there for a drink before dinner down the street and I had some magical drink that knocked me on my butt! It was called some girl's name I just can't remember it! The ambiance was very nice. We didn't stay for any music but I would've like to found this place earlier! If I lived here, I... More

The environment of this bar is incredibly classy, while not being pretentious. It has a European feel, which I love. They have an impressive cocktail and wine list, but their appetizers are why we go back. There's so much goat cheese, which we love. So I highly recommend this place for the goat cheese lovers. Actually I recommend this place... More

This is a nice spot to enjoy before dinner appetizers and drinks, or late night drinks with entertainment. We visited this restaurant twice during a recent trip to New Orleans. They have nightly entertainment so we enjoyed music (9 p.m.) and some nice wine one evening with family. The following night we visited earlier in the evening and it was... More

Had a really nice time here with a large group. Drinks were really wonderful, as was all the food. Ambience is a little flat, and the place is filled with yuppies. But hey, what can you do?

The food and service were disappointing for New Orleans. The street is very crowded and parking is a problem. Probably won't return

This was different from most New Orleans bars in that it was open instead of crowded and not so dark. The live music was good without being too loud. Plenty of tables and delicious drinks.

This place is an amalgam of awesome stuff. Great wine and cocktail selections, live music, art, and reasonable prices under one roof. The owners did a great job on the build out, creating a welcoming upscale atmosphere that keeps the local historical style. Word of caution: if you order the poutine, you will be too full to eat much else.... More

Staying in Uptown / Carrollton

Neighbourhood Profile
Uptown / Carrollton
Very much their own self sufficient unit within the greater metro area, Uptown and Carrollton tone down the urban edge with a friendly attitude and collegiate feel. Home to Tulane and Loyola Universities, all the students living in the area ensure that Uptown and Carrollton stay youthful, cosmopolitan and vibrantly fun. Two of the liveliest thoroughfares for nightlife and socializing (and yes of course more of the city’s outstandingly good food and live music) are Oak Street and Maple Street. For a truly wild time, the expansive acreage of Audubon Park, with its zoo, golf course, and actual patches of swampy wetlands, means peace and quiet are never too far away.
