This place is good if you are looking for something quick and don't expect much in terms of service. It truly is a fast food restaurant. With that being said, the food is actually pretty good. I had the 3 piece chicken tenders and fries with a biscuit. The biscuit was actually really good and the chicken was hot and juicy.... More

My husband and I arrived in New Orleans by train late last night and need a quick snack someplace near the hotel and Willie's was right on the mark. There were several employees milling around and quite a few people, but no clear direction on how to receive service so we asked a weary-looking employee (turns out they were all... More

Well if I was drunk and hungry this place would probably get a better review. So six chicken wings for 10 dollars not really worth it. The drinks on other hand at 10 dollars are strong enough seeing as they are made with everclear,151 rum and something called disel.

What a great little spot for a quick lunch! I had wings and a biscuit and could not believe how delicious it was! I want that recipe for the biscuit sooooo bad! Seriously it was the best thing I ate on the whole trip.....even better than beignets!

I have to say that we stopped at Willie's Chicken Shack to just grab a bite- it wasn't planned and we wouldn't have stopped in the first place. It looked like a run-of-a-mill fast food place, it isn't pretty and interesting, it will not catch your attention... BUT IT WAS AMAZING! The fried chicken, the chicken tenders, and the wings were... As far as southern fried chicken and other battered edibles go - this place is pretty good. The one star rating is a reflection of the terrible service and unwarranted rudeness of the staff. Now given they probably deal with a bunch of hungry drunks every day, there's no need for bad behavior to regular patrons waiting for their meal... More

We got a quick dinner at Willie's after our meeting. It is really amazing friend chicken. The chicken is cooked to literally fall of the bone and then friend perfectly. Not sure how they do that but it's yummy. The only complaint I have is that the music was really really loud. It made it hard to have a conversation.

We first stopped into Willie's for the range of frozen drinks from those huge dispensers. Of course we stopped in there again for more, because they're everywhere! We eventually decided to try the chicken, and were we pleasantly surprised! The chicken was sooo good, and the biscuit that comes with the meal? - enjoy that delicious morsel! Willie's is everywhere,... More

For all the times I have come to New Orleans and passed the many Willie's Chickens, which I usually bypassed in favor of more typical Cajun fare, I finally stopped to check it out since I was here for a week this visit and went on the last day. It was so delicious and cooked perfectly, the crust extra crispy,... More

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
