One of the most difficult challenges for a good restaurant is to be consistently good from dish to dish. GW Fish nailed every dish. Service was top notch - they kept checking on us (but not too often either). How do you age swordfish for...2 weeks and taste fresh? ...and to say nothing about the absolute tenderness. Highly recommended.More

Great dinner once again. Our favorite dinner of the 5 we had in NOLA. Great service, wide variety of choices. We were there with 2 other couples and all the dishes were spot on. Would highly recommend dining here. Cant wait to go back.

We organized a visit to NOLA for 4 couples and GW’s was the special spot we suggested to our group for gathering one evening. Service for a group isn’t always stellar but the staff did not miss a beat with a few dietary requests thrown...in. The tuna tartare and Fins appetizers were wonderful and generous. My Parmesan crusted flounder was excellent as was my husband’s pepper crusted tuna. Our group was very happy with their dinners and desserts. Great specialty cocktails and wine selections. Definitely make reservations well in advance.More

On the night we were there the place was jumping, packed to the gills (pun unintended). Luckily, we had a reservation and we waited about 10 minutes past our time. The owner himself came over to us (still not sure how he knew it was...us in the sea of humanity) and thanked us for waiting and took us to our table. Our waiter Kendrick was personable and professional and was very attentive. We knew we were in for treat when hot biscuits were served to us fresh off a baking sheet. It is not hyperbole to say those were the best biscuits I have ever had. After a delightful Toro sashimi and poke starter and a great “3-way” wedge salad I chose the dry-aged selection of the evening which was swordfish. It was explained that they dry aged selected fish in a manner similar to beef for 12-14 days. The fish had a depth and complexity of flavor that I have not personally experienced. Expertly prepared and very generous portion. Even though it was $58 I would say it was worth it. Flawless experience start to finish.More

One of the best meals I’ve ever had. We oooed and ahhhed over each of the following: lobster bisque, red fish, oh my gosh the greens and dirty rice! Drum fish was delicious and so was the salty ice cream pie! Service was impeccable, the...nicest guys, ambiance perfect. Highly recommend this restaurant!!!More

5 college friends in New Orleans for 3 days. Lots of awesome meals - this was our unanimous favorite. Appetizers were great (calamari, lobster wonton, tuna) ; wine was delish ($$) - all of the entrees were fantastic. I had tuna with edamame crust and...it was amazing. I’ve never had a bad meal here. It never disappoints. Service was also great.More

One of the best meals I’ve ever had- I enjoyed the sea scallops carbonara that was amazing- it was fresh and light with wonderful flavors, you could taste the freshness of the scallops, and the pasta. For dessert I had the coconut sorbet with a...chocolate shell it was also amazing especially if you love coconut. The restaurant was very crowded, and decided to have dinner at the bar - it was perfect. The service was great - if you find yourself in New Orleans don’t miss a chance to enjoy eating here.More

We went to serval restaurants while in New Orleans and GW Fins was the BEST dining experience we had. The food and service was above-and beyond! Highly recommend not just for the food but the outstanding service you get while you are dining.

Wow! Another great dinner at GW Fins. We were celebrating a birthday, which they acknowledged with a decorated table, personalized menu, and a piece of chocolate (which seemed pretty minimal given what we were spending). After cocktails we ordered a bottle of sauvignon blanc for...our meal. We split lobster dumplings and tuna tartare for appetizers. Both were excellent, and the lobster dumplings were to die for. I ordered the Dry Aged Bluefin Tuna “New York Strip” for my entree. It was pricey at $75, but I thought it was worth it--it may be the best piece of tuna I've ever had. My wife ordered a halibut special which was also excellent. We split a Coconut on the Half Shell dessert, which was really quite good. The service was excellent--we were seated promptly and the wait staff was attentive. We'll definitely return when in NOLA. NOTE: we went on a Thursday night and had to settle for reservations earlier than we would have preferred. LESSON: reserve early.More

It started off as. 5 star when the hostess gave my sister a black napkin instead of white so the link wouldn’t go on her black dress.. it’s all in the detail!! Zachary was our server, he was so knowledgeable of the menu (which looks...like it changed daily as they were printed daily) My brother in law is allergic to shrimp so the chef said order whatever you want even if it has shrimp & I’ll change it up, how amazing ?! So we got the dumplings & tacos with a bit of a twist. There was a who’s team serving us , clearing our tables, making sure everything was delicious, it was amazing all around.More

We had a fantastic meal at GW Fins. Infact I would so far as to say, probably the best ever! Lobster dumplings, beetroot & goats cheese salad, scalibut main and yellow fin tuna were exceptionally prepared, cooked and presented. Our server, Roshaun, was polite and...friendly and perfectly attentive. For dessert we shared a salty malty which was delicious, and had after-dinner drinks. The experience came to an end all too quickly but we left having had one of the best meals and would highly recomend GW Fins.More

Delicious food and excellent service in a beautiful setting. I had the wild redfish and it might’ve been the best fish I’ve ever had. It was served with mashed potatoes and a TINY bit of spinach (too tiny). The service was excellent. L The layout...of the restaurant is very elegant. Ask to sit in the main area as it is not the same in one of the little side rooms. My only suggestion is that the hostess could be friendlier. I would go back!More

GW Fins deserves the high rating. Two couples (all with various menu selections) and everything was fantastic. I'd go again tomorrow (if we lived there).
