This is a classic, stand-up only bar. A lot of history and the original home of the Grasshopper Go here and get this drink

There was 8 of us on Wednesday May 17. We were in New Orleans for a few days to celebrate a birthday. We called around 8pm and we were able to get right in. The table was set and waiting for us when we got there about 20 minutes later. I don't remember our male servers name but he was... More

The service was good. The food was okay. The shrimp and grits had way too much butter. Highly recommend the La. Crawfish Hash and the $3 mimosas.

We came to Tujagues on the recommendation of a tour guide. We figured if a local recommended it, it had to be good. Very disappointed. Food was ok, waiter was indifferent and acted like he was doing us a favor answering our questions. My friend and I are not big eaters and we wanted to share dishes. He acted disdainful... More

Fried oyster salad was excellent with good dressing. Shrimp and grits a bit different. Tasty BBQ sauce bIt grits were different consistency than usual. I think most most would like. Enjoyed the history of the restaurant.

From the starters to the main dishes this was terrible. Fried green tomatoes were tasteless and not browned. The bacon wrapped oysters were disgusting. My filet mignon tasted burnt like it had been sitting in a fire. My daughters filet was cooked well when ordered medium, asked for a new one and it was raw. The ambiance is nothing to... More

I carefully selected all my dinners on a 3 day leisure trip to New Orleans. I am aware of the options being a Tulane alumni. I was very disappointed with our experience. My wife ordered speckled trout and there is no way the fish was a trout! They substituted whatever they had. I had soft shell crab that looked impressive,... More

Here with family on the Saturday evening before Mother's Day to celebrate with family. We had made reservations the Wednesday before and I recommend reservations. We were quickly seated and our waiter John C took good care of us. Menus, water and drinks were quickly delivered. The Sazerac made here by Paul Gustings is the best in the city that... More

On our bike tour, our tour guide pointed out this bar as the oldest stand up bar and the home of the Grasshopper (the minty creamy drink). Go there to get one, they are delicious!

stopped for drinks and appetizers as we roamed the area. friendly staff. food was on par with other places in the area. however, the prices considering the portions were well out of line. decided we could do better when we made choices for other meals.

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
