Wonderful food and service. We didn't have a reservation but they have an enclosed patio for walk ins. I gave my phone number and half an hour later they texted us. I had the duck breast, juicy and delicious. My husband had shrimp and grits, amazing. Will highly recommend it. Prices were right and the drinks were wonderful.

We walked in on a Sunday night without a reservation and they were able to seat us immediately. The beautiful dining room is large and the tables are not crowded. The wait staff was attentive and responsive. We ordered the Shrimp and Grits (some of the best I have ever had), the Pan Crusted Salmon and Pork Chops. Everything was... More

We had a nice time and the service was very good but with all of the food option in New Orleans, this was good but not memorable. I am ok with old school but it just didn't seem to be very inspired.

My wife and I went here for an anniversary dinner on our first trip to New Orleans. A friend recommended it, and we were VERY pleased. The atmosphere is really great, because the building is beautiful. Our reservation was for 7:45, and they were running right on time. We had an opportunity to go to the bar before dinner, but... Loved having drinks and appetizers al fresco. The servers were pleasant and knowledgeable. Our dinner was a fixed menu with open bar---- the food was top quality and the service outstanding.

This restaurant on the corner of Jackson Square reeks of old world NOLA. The menu is classical CAJUN/CREOLE/FRENCH with a few modern twists. The service is attentive without being overbearing. Lovely old world atmosphere with lots of private spaces. Try the shrimps and grits but whatever you order go hungry as portions - like most of NOLA restaurant are big.

Be sure to make a reservation. We ordered the shrimp-goat cheese crepes - so good!! And we had the shrimp and grits, which were excellent, the wood-grilled mahi-mahi which was delicious, and then had the pecan-praline bread pudding for dessert which was decadent and delicious. We then toured the upstairs area and saw the "ghost table" that is set for... More

The Bistro at Muriel’s Jackson Square offers New Orleans classics like Gumbo, BBQ Shrimp, Oysters "Muriel", Turtle soup, Fried Gulf Shrimp Po-boy, Crabmeat Imperial, Shrimp Remoulade & contemporary Creole cuisine like Pecan Crusted Drum & Wood Grilled Tuna while the Courtyard Bar is the perfect place to drop by for drinks & appetizers. The Séance Lounge is the place for a relaxed, comfortable meeting before or after dining. Comprised of two areas, The Outer & The Inner Séance, the Séance also tells the story of a mystic & checkered past. The Outer Séance addresses the New Orleans era of Storyville & when Muriel's Jackson Square was one of the French Quarter's best bordellos! The Inner Séance is the preferred domain of the resident ghost, Pierre Antoine Lepardi Jourdan, & is the perfect spot for an intimate conversation & a drink amongst its plush surroundings.

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
