If you want to eat some great food then I suggest you make a stop here! We went at lunchtime and arrived just as they opened and were seated immediately. We ordered the lunch buffet and it was tremendous. The service was excellent.

What a great introduction to our start in New Orleans! I would suggest the lunch buffet because you get a taste of many Cajun dishes.

Dooky Chase is located in the first African American neighborhood in New Orleans. We used Lyft to get there. We were seated right away. The waitress came with water. She explained our options of ordering of the menu or the buffet lunch. Of course, three...More

We came here for Friday lunch, and without a reservation, we had to wait an hour to be seated. That being said, we were always kept in the loop about where we were in the line, which was appreciated. We each decided to opt for...More

You will find the best fried chicken here. You can have the buffet or order off the menu. I ordered the red beans and rice and fried chicken off the menu thinking I could eat light. I WAS WRONG! The house salad was huge and...More

You should get reservations to eat at Dooky Chase. We didn't but were still treated really well. This is an old time, traditional southern meets New Orleans cooking. Some of the best fried chicken ever. Skip the mac and cheese. It was elegant and casual...More

Well, the rumours are true. Dooky Chase is wonderful. My wife and I are down in New Orleans for a weekend getaway and we had to try eating at this landmark. We started off with a cup of gumbo each and it was delicious. For...More

That sound? That flavor? That certain je ne sais quoi
that lets you known you’re in “Nawlins” and nowhere

to be the very best of New Orleans culture and
tradition is, put simply, just how people go about
their daily lives in this historic part of town. As
one of America’s oldest African-American neighborhoods

There is a lot of parking in the area. Walking while it's light is fine that said, I would think twice about walking at night.

We will be in New Orleans in a couple of weeks. How early do we need to call and make reservations? Or when do you accept reservations?

We went at around 1:30-2 for a late lunch without reservation and had no line. The buffet was still up and humming. Delicious food!

I don't believe they have any gluten free items. That have a limited menu that is absolutely amazing. But I would call to be sure. They will most likely not reply back on here.
