It's one of those quick places where you can grab a quick bite. The place could use a good cleaning and painting. Needs to be renovated.

Love it here, under new management. Good food, great service! Met the manager, super friendly! Great mixed drinks, nice bartender. One of our favorite places!

We stayed at the Hilton so that we could enjoy Mardi Gras, little did we know that we were situated right across the street from this little gem. We were able to cross the street for a 'pain killer" daiquiri at our pleasure. We also enjoyed their cheeseburgers, boudain balls, and french fries.

My husband and I got lost looking for a subway and found this place. In a pinch we needed 8 foot long turkey sandwiches cut in half for my daughters dance team. They fixed us right up...extremely friendly. They went out of their way to help us out (and make a sell) when subway down the street had their doors... More

Since this restaurant was located across the street from our hotel we decided to get some soup for lunch. We tried both gumbos on the menu and they were both terrible and too make matters worst they were like $7 per cup.

You order your food at the register upon entering. You get a receipt and the food is brought to you. The food was average but it was so cheap. It was right next to our hotel so it was convenient for us when starting our day.

This is our first visit to NOLA and we knew we had to try a poboy and muffuletta. My husband ordered the 1/2 muffuletta and I had the 6" shrimp poboy ... They were beyond our expectations! The muffuletta was filled with meat and just the right amount of cheese and the required olive salad. The po-boy had more crispy,... More

Not sure where to start with this one. You know, many times you encounter a new (or new-ownership place such as this one), your experience was great and then they end up changing something because they're new. But let's just take it as it was. Been knowing the owners of this place for years having lived and worked downtown most... More

Had a ham and turkey po boy sandwich. The meat was fresh and plentiful. The sandwich was delicious. Service was quick and staff was friendly. Upon entering FredRick's I was ready to turn around and leave. I felt like I was transformed back to a deli in the 60s and I was not impressed with the dated decor. Needs a... More

My wife and I visited this place last year when we vacationed in New Orleans, and we fell in love with it right away. On our most recent trip to New Orleans, we ate here for lunch a couple times, and actually came in on our last day to get sandwiches for the plane trip back. The staff is really... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
