This was the first restaurant where I ate during my weeklong trip to New Orleans and it was an excellent first meal. It was walking distance from my hotel and had great reviews on Yelp - so I gave it a try. Great service and awesome food. I was looking at the other plates of the patrons there and wished... More

The Bob Ton Cafe is fantastic! We enjoyed the old style NOLA restaurant. The food and service were top notch. You must try the crawfish bisque. It is rare to find the real thing and this is it! Also, the crabmeat au gratin was amazing!

Had not been to this restaurant in decades! So nice to return. Typical New Orleans restaurant. Casually elegant. We had a variety of dishes - crawfish bisque, An eggplant, Shrimp and crabmeat etouffee. A great salad with a delicious dressing made with creole mustard. We didn't have room for dessert but the only bread pudding I make is using Alzina... More

Visited for lunch 1/31 and 2/1. The atmosphere is classical old world New Orleans with outstanding service. Famous NOLA French bread with meal. I had crawfish etouffee one day and bayou jambalaya the next. Good stuff not great but very good. Place is a little pricey be prepared to put down $15-20 for lunch. Good experience the two days I... Great location on Magazine Street. The building has lots of character. Large wine selection. Robust menu. Our waitress Pat was terrific in assisting us with great entree selections. Quality of the food was outstanding. Highly recommend. Note, closed on weekends.

Disappointed; food was very salty, 2 entrees. Notified staff, did not offer any type of resolution. $20 - $30 plus an entree expectations were not met.

Warm friendly staff, great seafood, casual ambience. Happy crowd but you can have a normal conversation at your table. Just outside the French Quarter which makes parking a breeze.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
