We are always in N.O. and have never ate here. I think its because the line outside looks intimidating, but it went fast. Im glad we waited because it was pretty good. The menu seemed pretty basic but everything we ordered was great. The only downfall was the wait staff arguing a bit with each other but not a big... More

Get there around 4pm if you do not want to wait. However it is well worth the wait if you don't get there early. I had oysters on the half shell, fried oyster platter and Boo Fries. I have had raw oyster all over the Gulf Coast and the ones at this place are by the best i have ever... More

Delightful meal shared with out of town guests who enjoyed the medley of seafood dishes we ordered: Raw oysters, Shrimp PoBoy, Fish PoBoy, Gumbo, Corn Bisque, .... Our server was attentive and willing to thoroughly answer our questions with patience. Thank you, "Akisha" (spelling?), for your friendly smile as well. Although the line to wait for a table seemed quite... More

OK we got into NOLA late afternoon Sunday, and wandered down from our hotel to just past Bourbon Street. There was an expected line for our destination - ACME Oyster House - but we decided to risk is. The hostess's "30 minutes" was more like 45-50, but the food at the end was worth it. We opted for bar seating... More

Usually there's a long line due to their reputation for seafood. Food is good but not necessarily better than other less known places, but their name draws lines. Tables are close and if there are just two of you, you will most likely be stuck in the back room unless you sit at the bar. Inside could use some updating... More

The Uber driver recommended eating here, and she was right! It was 5:00, and there was already a line waiting. The wait wasn't bad. We were seated at the bar. The bartenders were friendly and helpful. My first experience eating crawfish, delicious! We also had the po boy peacemaker, sampler, and a side of sweetpotato fries. Everything was excellent! A... My daughter raved about the meat breakfast skillet. It included: eggs, cheese, potatoes, Alligator meat, and sausage. My grandsons loved their waffles with the whipped cream topping, and my 2 egg breakfast was perfectly cooked. Our waitress was friendly and helpful. Great food for reasonable prices.

Line was fast. Bloody Mary was good. "Boo fries" were great. Shrimp PoBoy was ok. (Much better when we got up and got our own tarter sauce) Only complaints would be sharing a table with strangers, and the waitress being too busy to ask if we needed anything. Overall, pretty good. Once was enough though, not special enough to make... More

It was a long wait in the line to get in and the seating is very close together so if you are large in stature, be prepared to not be able to move your arms very much. Lucky for us, we weren't too crowded as both my mother and I went in had plenty of room but at the tables... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
