Lucky Dog stands greet you at the airport and are scattered around the French Quarter providing that hot dog aroma that makes you salivate. Load up with fresh dogs and condiments right off the cart, grab a beer at a nearby bar and sit in Lafayette Square and watch the carnival. Yummy. Maybe get two while you're splurging. I always... If you want to try all the "local" foods. Go for the crawfish, gumbo, muffulato, or Po' Boy. A hot dog for $4.50, not worth the taste or the space in your stomach. Find some good food New Orleans has to offer.

OK, you can say you were in the movies . . . well sort of. I just read that they are making a movie of the book "Confederacy of Dunces" which featured Lucky Dogs. Now other than the bun, and the dressing, you don't really want to know what is in the hot dog. That's why I didn't give it... More

Local food cart operation. Nothing beats a foot long Lucky Dog hot dog with chili and onions after a long day of partying in the Quarter! Don't let the cart vendors scare you. The dogs are very good!

Lucky Dogs can be found in many locations around New Orleans, its a hot dog cart. Large hot dogs, and good. Beware no relish.

You all may or may not agree, due to the fact that New Orleans has so many excellent eating establishments, but you need to try grabbing a couple of hot dogs & sodas @ a Lucky Dog food cart near Jackson Square. It is so much fun to see so many people, look @ the artwork hanging on the wrought-iron... More

This is a great place to grab a great hot dog quickly. They have several choices and are located all over the city. Again great for a quick bite.

We enjoyed a couple of hot dogs for breakfast while waiting for our flight. I haven't eaten a hot dog in years o really cannot compare it to anything. It was a hot dog. Nothing special, but I heard these were a go to thing while in NOLA so that's what we did. I would grab one again in a... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
