So many vendors of all kinds of arts, craft, jewelry, T shirts, Maudi Gras masks, and food galore are available. If you can't find something to take home....you just didn't look.

Average at best. Flavourless except for the icing sugar. Waiting in a long for them as well. Disappointed really.

I Was disappointed that on our first try I wouldn't get to eat at the classic New Orleans eatery until someone told me about this location. It didn't disappoint. Got my fix with the beignets and coffee and didn't have to wait in a terribly long line and did a little shopping.

So much cleaner and friendlier than the FQ location. I think the beignets taste better here as well. If it's not too breezy, enjoy eating on the riverfront deck.

One of NOLA's most famous places to visit. You'll get beignets, coffee and orange juice and that's all you need. It was very easy to get a table for two at around 1pm.

After seeing the queue for the Cafe Du Monde in the FQ I thought I would give it a miss, but luckily found this outpost in the Outlet Mall. Same coffee and same beignets as at the original place, but without the long wait for a seat. Glad I tried the beignets, nice crusty exterior and fluffy interior, but don't... More

I thought these were some really great doughnuts. I'm glad I found the mall location, because we did not have to wait in line.

On our first visit to New Orleans, we visited the famous Cafe du Monde for their much-talked-about beignets and were quite disappointed. Firstly, the place was very crowded and we waited awhile before being seated. After being seated, it took about 20 minutes to catch the notice of the waiter assigned to our table. We ordered hot chocolate & the... More

The beignets are great, just like at the original. The coffee is fine. But the experience is not the same as at the original. You are in, or outside, a shopping mall from anywhere.

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
