You have probably walked past it a 100 times on oak without noticing it but you should! Slightly tucked away in a building this restaurant prides its self for good customer service and amazingly fresh sushi. They live up to both while also having some more exotic fish you won't find other places. I know there are so many great... More

Went on a recommendation of a friend. The sushi was good. We really enjoyed the speciality rolls. The service was odd though, the server was very offensive and made very rude comments about children that I work with. It made the whole experience VERY uncomfortable.

My husband and I were in New Orleans for a conference at the beginning of June and were having a difficult time finding gluten free food. We stumbled upon the Ninja Sushi website which indicated they had gluten free offerings and, since we cannot easily get gluten free sushi in our home state, decided to venture away from the French... In 1995, a friend of mine introduced me to sushi (I was reluctant...) at Ninja Sushi. It was phenomenal - fresh, creative - and THAT Ninja Sushi set the Gold Standard henceforth. Every time I visit NOLA, I make it a point to visit Ninja! The last time I went (2011), it was as good as ever - including amazing... More

We were fans and loyal customers from the time our 1st daughter was around 3 (they were on Jeanette then) til the sale (daughter 28 years). Abruptly, boom! They were gone, all our servers were gone, along with a lot more. The baked green mussels, a sinful favorite, is not tiny and uninteresting. The rolls are rather dull. The service... More

My husband & I have been going to Ninja since we first moved to the New Orleans area. It was hands down our favorite sushi spot, and it was on the top of our list when we wanted to go out for dinner. The service was great, and the sushi was incredible....until now. We hadn't been to Ninja for a... More

We've been going to Ninja for 5+ years, and have always appreciated the freshness of the ingredients, and the 'kitschy' decor. We were a little worried with the change in ownership, but we LOVE IT!! They have weekly special rolls now, and they are EXCELLENT! They're raising the bar to compete with other local 'fancier' sushi restaurants. Very reasonably priced!... More

This was our favorite sushi place. Found out on our last trip that Momo sold the restaurant. The food was still good but the service needs a lot of work.I don't think they kept any of the old wait staff. Waited 30 min. for drinks and had a 3 hour meal. New owner was apologetic and comped a lot of... More

My roommate and I were really looking forward to trying ninja and especially so today since sushi fest was such a bummer. We arrived and we're coldly greeted by the bartender who asked "bar or table?" We said we preferred a table and he huffed "it'll be a while." We decided to sit at the bar instead (we were the... Staying in Uptown / Carrollton

Neighbourhood Profile
Uptown / Carrollton
Very much their own self sufficient unit within the greater metro area, Uptown and Carrollton tone down the urban edge with a friendly attitude and collegiate feel. Home to Tulane and Loyola Universities, all the students living in the area ensure that Uptown and Carrollton stay youthful, cosmopolitan and vibrantly fun. Two of the liveliest thoroughfares for nightlife and socializing (and yes of course more of the city’s outstandingly good food and live music) are Oak Street and Maple Street. For a truly wild time, the expansive acreage of Audubon Park, with its zoo, golf course, and actual patches of swampy wetlands, means peace and quiet are never too far away.
