Great variety of sweets and other baked goods. A little expensive, but worth the premium. Out of this world cafe au lait, even tastier than Cafe du Monde. Friendly, thoughtful staff.

We went here based on the recommendation from Trip Advisors 3 days in NOLA. It is quite a distance from downtown, but not difficult to get to. We took the St. Charles street car to Cadiz St. then walked about a mile to Magazine St. It was amazing! Like being in France! We both ordered ham and cheese croissants and... More

First visit December 2013, found the best French awesome desserts. Now looking forward to my next visit (which was May 2017) which was way to long, anticipating my tastes & wondering what I would discover. I have to find items that will travel 4 hours. Well, the Black Forest Cake did not disappoint. It held up well. And my co... More

We had breakfast here twice on our trip. We loved the Smoked Salmon Bagel but everything we had was a hit. The coffee is good too.

La Boulangerie is a nice, quaint bakery and is great for coffee and pastries. I recommend either the Chocolate or Almond Croissant. Both are very good!

We probably ate 5 meals here - mainly breakfast, but, also, lunch. The pastries, bread, and other food choices were just delicious. The restaurant is clean, the wait staff pleasant, the all the food choices very fresh. Great, great place to start your day.

We spent a leisurely Sunday brunch with friends here. Though it was busy and the line appeared long, it moved quite quickly. The baked good are fantastic -- I am partial to the almond croissant, though the eggs that the rest of the party had also appeared delicious. We returned here for ice cream and enjoyed this place so much... More

If you want quality, great taste, elegance, good background music and interesting people, here you have it all in one place. The Paris breast, which is a croissant stuffed with hazelnut creme is out of this world! And the staff is super nice

Tasty sorbet, good pralines and lots of fun French pastries to choose from! I liked everything I tried here. It was lovely and delicious.

We sought this one out because we discovered that bread shops (boulangeries) are not all over this city like we expected (it's not so French after all) but. . .this place is the real thing and very popular. Their coffee is so good and the croissants are to die for.

Staying in Uptown / Carrollton

Neighbourhood Profile
Uptown / Carrollton
Very much their own self sufficient unit within the greater metro area, Uptown and Carrollton tone down the urban edge with a friendly attitude and collegiate feel. Home to Tulane and Loyola Universities, all the students living in the area ensure that Uptown and Carrollton stay youthful, cosmopolitan and vibrantly fun. Two of the liveliest thoroughfares for nightlife and socializing (and yes of course more of the city’s outstandingly good food and live music) are Oak Street and Maple Street. For a truly wild time, the expansive acreage of Audubon Park, with its zoo, golf course, and actual patches of swampy wetlands, means peace and quiet are never too far away.
