We discovered this on a food tour - we went back twice in our three day visit! The muffeleto is the best in the city - the owners are SO wonderful, friendly, helpful, adorable! I recommend this as your first must stop foodie place.

Excellent cheeses and sangria. We had trouble deciding which cheeses for our cheese platter so we asked the proprietor to pick her favorites...best idea ever! The blue cheese from Germany was the best we ever had and the others were excellent as well. I had the red sangria and my wife had the white...so good. We thanked the woman for... More

Excellent sandwiches and Muffelatas. Thoroughly enjoyable. Would definitely recommend for a meal in the French Market.

Wonderful area. Wasn't even hungry but had to try. This was a fourth of sandwich and we split it. You better be real hungry to get the half. Delicious!

If you love cheese, you should make the trip down to the French Market and try this cheese plate. It was SO good. I was given several cheese samples before deciding which three I wanted, and the lady helping us was very friendly and helpful. This was a perfect lunch in a perfect outdoor area. The platter had fruit, nuts,... More

I from NY and Know my Rubin sandwiches which is one of my favorite sandwiches and hard to make as the beef needs about week in brine checking everyday so some time longer to make it perfect and the balance between the rye bread is ratio critical and this guy did it perfectly after we asked for more corn beef... Tried a muffeleta, eat 1/4 there with the other 1/4 to go - that's how big they are!!! Quite expensive but it gives you two meals. Quite testy but found the dressing a bit over the top.

Never thought of putting feta with hummus. Maybe I'm dumb. Great combination. Fresh pita bread. A little olive oil and paprika. Very tasty.

We were told by a tour guide that the best muffuletta's in the French Quarter were at Alberto's Bistro. So when in Rome do as the Romans, in other words try the local fare where the locals recommend. The one thing that set Alberto's above the rest is that they make there own homemade olive tapenade or olive salad which... More

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
