Thank you Augustus for Always taking great care of us at your Oyster Bar. 40 years of providing great service. We have tried many of the local favorites for oysters but none compare to our experience ( year after year) at Desires! We recently enjoyed...More

Good food. Atmosphere was light, casual and friendly. The Firecracker Oyster appetizer was very good. Crab cakes and alligator bites were okay. The trio for dinner was good but heavy on rice.

We visit Desire multiple times during mg our trips to NOLA just for the chargrilled oysters. They really know how to cook and season them to perfection. During happy hour $1 oysters so get your own dozen! Brandy milk punch and bloody mary’s yummy!

Ordered the pan seared gulf fish with fresh sautéed asparagus with corn maque choux. The meal was absolutely delicious. The fish was done perfectly, the asparagus tender and sweet. The corn maque choux was light and complimented the fish and vegetable. Chef Donovan was gracious...More

This is a must see in French Quarter! The best char grilled oysters and Hurricanes in the city! The Ribeye and fried Peanut Butter&Jelly w/ice cream was to die for. Eric, Kentrell, and Frank made the entire experience worth it.

Raw oysters were fine, but not as good as St. Cecilias or Acme. The charred oysters were very small. In comparison to the three places we got oysters, this is in 3rd place. That being said, if this were my only option, I would still...More

Disliked nearly every aspect. The acoustics amplified the sound to the point where conversation across the table was impossible, the food was blah yet expensive, and the service was bad. Waitress just disappeared and we had to impose on someone else to track her down...More

Pictures were nice, good ratings. Oysters were fresh and juicy.... but they came with many small pieces of shell and mud on the oyster meat. Had to wipe them off in order to eat them. Friend had crab cakes - mushy, few bits of crab...More

Get the oysters! They’re huge and amazing. Great spot on Bourbon, not crowded. Other dishes look great as well.

French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living
lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty
Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port
of call for folks in search of a good time and a great
story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs
across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied
around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively
well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the
