This place is a gem. We made reservations about one month ago for 20 and they delighted us with two tables of 10 next to each other. Centrally located in the Quarter about 2 blocks from Royal and St. Ann, the courtyard is delightful. We had a wonderful waitstaff and wonderful brunch food. Chicken and waffles, huge meatloaf sandwiches, catfish... More

The restaurant itself is beautiful. You have the option of indoor or outdoor seating. We ordered the salmon cake with a mixed green salad that contained pecans, blue cheese, grapes and green apples along with the special of the day which was crawfish pasta. Every single bite of food was delicious. Nothing was overly spicy but everything was flavorful. Dessert... More

This was our first meal in New Orleans and we were not disappointed. Although it was very busy we did not have to wait long for a table. The food was excellent and the service really friendly. Would definitely recommend.

Super luncheon stop as we walked Nola. Good wine selection, extremely helpful and chatty servers. Good attention and follow up throughout our meal. Decent wines by the glass( and you should definitely relax with wine in Nola!). Our favorites included the Chicken Andouille Gumbo and Asian Chicken Salad. This is a relaxing oasis as you navigate the Nola streets.

We stayed in New Orleans for two days. Traveling cross - country with 2 dogs was made easier by places like Cafe Amelie. The entrance garden and seating area was delightful. Hosts were gracious as were the servers. Inside was a lovely bar and more seating. Loved the ambiance. They change their menu which is great - because it shows... More

We made reservations, we were literally 1 minute past whenever their limit was for when we were suppossed to be there and were told that we could not be seated on the patio. We were ok with that, even though there were plenty seats available. We waited for someone to take our order for at least another 15-20 minutes, then... More

I found the setting very nice, had it been a less windy day I would have loved to sit on the patio. Had the shrimp and grits which were very good as was the bread/rolls. Nice lunch.

Serving Creole New Orleans cuisine, Amelie has strong efforts in seafood--I had the shrimp and grits. Other areas have attractive dishes, like the beet salad. The dessert menu ranged from rich chocolate cake to a liquor soaked bread pudding (a little heavy--I prefer a light bread pudding). The full service bar did well. Service was gracious and helpful. No parking... More

We enjoyed a wonderful meal here! It was a pleasant evening in the courtyard. Service was outstanding! Our server Lauren skillfully attended to our every need without being intrusive. Tuna Ahi was so good, as was the King's Cake!

We stopped in for dinner and ate outside in the courtyard, which is very charming although the metal chairs are uncomfortable. Service was very friendly and efficient, but the food was just so-so. I had the pasta and sausage special which was bland and not really all that special at all, and my wife’s chicken breast was very dry. We... More

Description
Please note that the courtyard is seated on a first come, first serve basis. A reservation does not guarantee seating in the courtyard but we will have a table available inside our beautiful, historic carriage house. We normally allow reservation space for only 50% of the dining room to accommodate walk-ins. Additionally, in order to accommodate all of our guests who are waiting to be seated, we are only able to seat your party once everyone has arrived. Nestled in the historic 150-year-old Princess of Monaco Courtyard and Carriage House on Royal Street in the French Quarter, Cafe Amelie is a rare combination of superb Louisiana fare served in a lush, enchanting New Orleans courtyard setting. Cafe Amelie has a full bar offering an array of signature cocktail creations. Cafe Amelie and the accompanying Princess of Monaco Courtyard are also available for private parties, weddings and receptions.

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
