This place is fantastic. The food is fantastic, a real taste of New Orleans. You can eat inside, or in a cute little courtyard. I had the sampler platter and others in my party had poboys and shrimp dishes. We loved it all. The drinks are good too. There will be a line so plan ahead.

Oysters were good, crab cakes were too salty. Would still recommend having lunch or dinner there. No wait time.

For our 5 day Nola honeymoon, we visited Oceana not once, but twice.. it was that good. Perfect price point and very reasonable.. they have Yelp coupons (btw). Service: impeccable! Our server was Shane and he was 5 stars. Every server or host we encountered was 5 stars, in fact. One night we sat at the bar and the next... More

Went to Oceana Grill after our first full day in New Orleans so needless to say, we needed some hearty food on our stomachs after indulging in many adult beverages. We walked in and were seated immediately. Our server Kevin was great. Food came out quickly and it was awesome. I got the Shrimp Fettuccine Alfredo and the shrimp were... More

I am absolutely wild about great SEAFOOD gumbo. I put that in all caps because oddly enough, there are many places in New Orleans that serve only chicken/andouille gumbo and not the seafood variety. So, I was excited when multiple reviews named this joint as one of the top places for seafood gumbo. IMO, it is not. The gumbo was... More

We randomly ate here shortly after we arrived in NOLA. We had "blackened gator bites", shrimp po-boy, catfish po-boy and a seafood platter. Along with some mixed drinks. Food was great, service was great. No complaints. These were the best po-boys we had in NOLA.

The staff was nice enough, but the food was not good. It's a tourist trap. Go to the business district for food.

The Oceana grill served me the best oysters on the half shell that I have had in decades. The oysters were very large, juicy, tender and tasty. I had catfish as an entree and it was very good. Nice, relaxed atmosphere. Lots of happy people.

I spent a very relaxing couple of hours in the Oceana's courtyard. I enjoyed a delicious appetizer of Gator Tail Bites, with a mixture of fried and blackened alligator. The service was excellent, as good as the weather. I stayed longer than I intended, opting for a couple of locally brewed beers. For my main course I chose the Taste... More

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
