We walked in because it looked nice, and the food equaled the look. Seafood, oysters and shrimp were great, and the atmosphere (white table cloths), and the service made for a great lunch in a relaxing setting.

Heard about happy hour and oysters and were not disappointed. Raw and fried delicious. However, our server was unusually somber. Thought maybe he'd lost his grandmother but then saw him laughing and joking with wait staff. Took a while for him to come back and...More

Shrimp and Grits, Alsatian Tart were the perfect lunch items to share. This is a fun spot to hang out, casual, yet professional service. Lots of interesting food options without a lot of fuss or expense. Like being at a Parisian Brasserie in NOLA.

Maybe it was an off night. But our male server paid insufficient attention to our group table. The blackened drum fish was bland. Drinks were a bit over priced. We had enjoyed Luke's before on a prior trip. At best, the service & food were...More

Ate here for dinner. Located in Business district, across from French Quarter. Long thin restaurant with very bright lighting - looks likes a business restaurant. It's not the ambience - it's the food. Loved the Tuna and my friend also liked the Shrimp and Grits....More

They have a large raw bar display in the middle of the restaurant. It is not a large place and it did get a bit noisy although you could still hear table conversation. The table next to us got the raw bar sampler which came...More

So we checked in. Was seated right away. Immediately I ordered a martini and my sons ordered sodas. The sodas showed up but no martini. 10 minutes Slater I reminded the staff of my martini and also ordered oysters on the half shell. 10 minutes...More

They have a great happy hour, with half price wine by the glass and great food specials. The oysters were large, fresh, and briny. The fried oysters were perfectly done, great batter and cleanly fried. They have a brussel sprout dish that is to DIE...More

Our second time here. The waitstaff is very nice and attentive. The happy hour drinks and appetizers (including $0.75 PJ oysters) were excellent. The main course options were very limited but good. The grits were fantastic! Worth trying.

Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other
parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title
might suggest that this area is all about business and
little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you
away from the Central Business District. The CBD
offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be
touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the
world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts

Luke New Orleans is Besh's homage to the grand old Franco-German brasseries that once reigned in New Orleans. Luke offers an extensive French, German, and Belgian beer selection, including three exclusive house brews [custom-made in Louisiana]. The cuisine is unaffectedly Old World, using slow and traditional cooking techniques. The wine list features reds and whites from the Loire, Alsace, and Savoie regions, as well as Badischerwiens of Germany. Since opening in 2007, Luke has been hailed by Conde Nast Traveler, Travel + Leisure, and The Times-Picayune Lagniappe, which awarded Luke an impressive three bean-ranking for its "disarmingly home-spun culinary touches and broad-shouldered dishes that satisfy something more than just an appetit."
