I recently visited New Orleans and had the opportunity to eat at Refuel Cafe. I was genuinely impressed with the customer service as well as the ambiance! I haven't even touch on the breakfast items that were ordered and my mouth is salivating just thinking of my dish. I ordered the Southern breakfast and the grits were the best I... More

1st time here. Ordered biscuit sandwich which was a good quality biscuit with cheese, egg and bacon. Fancy jellys on the table to add to it. The rest of group had as equally good food, including a good waffle with nutela and bananas. Try it out.

We came as a party of three. My daughter said the crowd was normal for a Sunday. That being the case they should be ready and will detail later. The man we ordered from was friendly. We had to hover over a table making the people uncomfortable as we were while we were holding our number. They left. We stood,... More

Jumped off the Charles Street street car at River Bend looking for coffee. There was a queue at Camellias so we wandered around and found this little place. Asked if they just served coffee we were welcomed and sat down. We got talking to Guthrie the owner about all sorts. The floods, the neighbourhood and grits. So he brought a... More

One of the best omelet I ever had! That's my wife said and she had a lot of omelets. This place is small but the food is very good and the staff is super friendly.

Small menu but serving fresh well prepared food to order. Order at the counter, they bring the food to you. Great waffles, eggs, burritos.

Awesome place for breakfast. Food came out super quick and was delicious. Will be back. Very quaint location but they need to do something about the wasps around the business.

Small space with a few tables in which you order from the counter. Cute ambiance with adorable quirky wall decor. It's a bit pricey for a basic breakfast, but the quality is very good. I wanted the huevos rancheros but couldn't stomach paying $13 for them, so I skimped and got the quiche of the day instead for $4.25. I... More

My son and I had a great breakfast here instead of waiting on line at the Camellia Grill (which is also good). The eggs and bacon were perfectly done, and his Huevos Rancheros were plentiful and delicious.

Staying in Uptown / Carrollton

Neighbourhood Profile
Uptown / Carrollton
Very much their own self sufficient unit within the greater metro area, Uptown and Carrollton tone down the urban edge with a friendly attitude and collegiate feel. Home to Tulane and Loyola Universities, all the students living in the area ensure that Uptown and Carrollton stay youthful, cosmopolitan and vibrantly fun. Two of the liveliest thoroughfares for nightlife and socializing (and yes of course more of the city’s outstandingly good food and live music) are Oak Street and Maple Street. For a truly wild time, the expansive acreage of Audubon Park, with its zoo, golf course, and actual patches of swampy wetlands, means peace and quiet are never too far away.
