The French bread is wonderful. Our guest house was a block away. Pastries melts in your mouth. The aroma in the neighborhood makes you HUNGRY. Had to have it every morning. Very pleasant wait staff.

Back in the neighbourhood and back to Binder's. Can't fault the place, and I can't see how other can, but each to their own. The popularity of the place and with the number of regulars returning for their carbohydrate overload of donuts & danishes, along with the bakery's bread rolls, french & po'boy bread, speaks for itself. Greatly outweighs any... More

We were desperately trying to find muffaletta bread while heading back home after a trip to New Orleans as we make our own and happened upon this place. It is very, very old school in a sort of sketchy neighborhood, but looks can be deceiving. Service is top notch and the French bread and muffaletta bread are AWESOME!! Donuts are... More

Just had to return here on my return to New Orleans. (Opens at 7am to early afternoon) This is where the locals go for their bread and their sugary fixations. The selection of doughnuts and cakes for less than a dollar each, makes for an inexpensive bun-fight, as arguments entail when it gets to sharing the doughnuts, as 'half-each' has... More

Staying in a house on N. Rampart, it was just a short two block walk down to the Binder Bakery on the corner of Frenchman St. and N. Rampart. Reviews on Trip Advisory recommended the "best" jelly donuts in the world. They did not disappoint! The jelly donuts come in powdered sugar, regular sugar, or glaze. For a mere 75... More

Went in to buy & try the po'boy bread and the french bread and it was still warm . . . came outta there with two boxes of assorted cakes, doughnuts and pastries to taste. Within a block my shirt was covered in powdered sugar, my face covered with creme & jellied cosmetics, and I was wearing a chocolate moustache... More

I have been to New Orleans twice and the po-boy bread made here is wonderful. All restaurants use it and I always take some back with me and freeze it. The Inn we stayed at, got its pastries from here each day and they were tasty. Quaint neighborhood with this small bakery with big bread.

Binder's has wonderful po-boy bread. Crust is just right, odor is sweet, the enclosed dough is tender and moist and savory. Just got back from New Orleans and brought back two loaves. Already this morning the first loaf is sure to go. Muy Bueno -- Muy Delicioso.

There is something special about a simple, delicious french bread. The crispness of the crust, the light and spongy center. Quite a few places make it good, Binders makes it great! I remember, early morning at the door of the bar and grill I worked for waiting for that truck to pull up with those giant brown paper bags steaming... More
