A very relaxed and cosy restaurant. Hippy-like atmosphere. Great place to start a day in the big easy.

If you like homegrown coffee shop/cafe, then this is your place. It has a great vibe. I was there on a Sat morning around 10, and it was jumpin. Good coffee, good cookies. The food looked yummy--didn't have time to sit. Wish I did. Great place to walk to if you are staying in Algiers.

We stopped in twice while visiting NOLA. Great breakfast. Great coffee. Dine in or out. Small and quiet.

We stayed in the Algiers neighborhood when visiting New Orleans. We asked all the locals and the told us we had to visit this place for brunch. Definitely lived up to the hype! Many brunch options. Egg dishes, coffee, and fresh pastries.

Rented a shotgun just around the corner for the weekend. First morning was just a quick coffee run. Got in and out with no problems. Friendly staff. Saturday about 1PM we went for a coffee and a quick bite to eat. Staff said they were closing early and we couldn't order anything that needed to be cooked or prepped. So... More

We had the house salad, so big and good and full of what we had not seen in the fancy and funky NOLA restaurants we had been developing heard disease in over the previous two days. So good and good for us and reasonably priced, of course I then had to get a cookie, delish but maybe not so heart... More

Foam plates are banned in Australia, it seems the message hasn't made it to the US.Makes me cringe to eat off them. I suppose the breakfast was OK, partner enjoyed her meal but NO to foam plates.

Decided to try this place with some friends. The first thing we noticed was the smell of mothballs when we walked in. Unsure if it's like this all the time, or what they had going on, but it was rather overwhelming. This place is rather small, too, and the service was slow! Maybe they only had one cook, but it... Staying on Algier's Point gave us an opportunity to try a couple of the local spots. This is a great little place to start your day. The pastries are MUST TRY. My almond croissant was delicious. My friend's omelet was large and she said very well prepared. And a big cup of coffee to clear the cobwebs from the previous... More

Staying in Algiers

Neighbourhood Profile
Algiers
Sitting pretty across the Mississippi River from the rambunctious French Quarter, the Crescent City’s second oldest neighborhood is as historic and as scenic as any – just a lot less showy about it. With its numerous 19th and early 20th century homes and plentiful parks and riverside green space for cycling and walking, subdued and low key Algiers yields the best views of New Orleans and offers a quiet haven from the hustle and bustle in other parts of town. Most of the area’s activity, for visitors anyway, takes place at Algiers Point where the famous Canal Street / Algiers Ferry has been the main attraction since 1827 and is still giving folks one of the best rides in town at very affordable rates. Restaurants, bars and music venues here all but guarantee the utmost of authentic experiences sans any hype or high prices.
