This is just a wonderful place to stay and we would recommend it to anyone! We stayed here three days / two nights to explore the Tikal-area. The fauna and the view make you feel in paradise. You can swim nearby. The entire staff is super friendly and helpful. We had breakfast / lunch / diner here and we were... More

My family wandered into Don David's place while staying at a different hotel in El Remate. We were well received by Don David himself and greatly enjoyed our meal in the hotel restaurant. The portions were large, the food was yummy, the beer was cold, and the company - Don David himself - was both entertaining and informative. Don David... More

Beautiful view, pleasant staff. Portions seemed small but I was starving after 10 mile hike. Food was extremely salty.

We went here to enjoy the Mayan tree ring of fire ritual- they light a flame around a Ceibal tree in the garden. There is a daily special and a la Carte. You need to book in advance. We had the chicken casserole. It was fine but nothing special. The ritual was a bit of an anti climax. Service was... More

There is a daily special in addition to regular fare. Worth eating here in a relaxed atmosphere with a great view of Lake Peten.

This place is lovely. Great setting by the lake and gorgeous garden. The owners speak get English and are super helpful as reflected by previous travellers. If your budget allows the hotel and food are great. Mid price so not cheap.

Pleasant outdoor seating overlooking a garden and Lake Peten. Well prepared food at great prices. Especially loved the blanco fish. The house made tortilla chips were our favorite of the entire trip. Perfect place for lunch after exploring Tikal. I highly recommend.

We had a 2 nightstay here. This is a nice simple hotel that is staffed by friendly people and the Owner, David is there everyday. The dining is basic with good specials and a fantastic breakfast . There is a great covered deck right on the shore of Lake Itza. There is a mechanical trolley that brings drinks from the... More

A tasty, thoughtfully presented, plate of vegetarian food was a rare treat is this part of the world. The view over the beautiful garden was a delightful extra.

Description
Whether you're a guest in our hotel or just stopping by, we welcome your visit to our little piece of paradise. Breakfast is served a la carte from 6:30am, with a variety of options such as the Guatemalan breakfast (eggs, beans, plantains and chorizo), homemade yogurt and banana pancakes. Reservations are not required. There are also several lunch options on our menu, served until 4pm. Dinner is a fixed menu, a typical Guatemalan special every evening with a meat and vegetarian option. Please make reservations before 4pm of the same day, dinner is served at 7pm.If you are headed to Tikal before we open for breakfast, we can prepare a box lunch for you. Rosita's famous desserts include chocolate cheesecake, apple pie, fried plantains with vanilla ice cream and guava pie made from fresh guavas in our garden. Among our selection of drinks you will find allspice tea, fresh-squeezed pink lemonade and depending on what’s in season, perhaps even Pitaya (Dragon fruit) juice. Enjoy a frozen margarita or piña colada while viewing the sunset from the veranda. The restaurant is open air, with a spectacular view of our garden and Lake Petén Itzá.
