We stopped here because of a prior review, and found the food was excellent. Seems that all the locals come here for some large portions, cheap prices, and some unusual local Hawaiian dishes, and everything was delicious! Try their fried chicken, you won't leave hungry, guaranteed!

Bland and forgettable eggs. Dry toast. Canned meats. The food I ate in the Army chow hall was better. Do yourself a favor and spend the money/time to go elsewhere...anywhere else.

I wasn't a vegetarian in September of 2015, when we visited Kona. I am a vegetarian now, and I love it! I never crave meat. Except the katsu dip from Pine Tree Café. I crave it on a weekly basis. I've never had something so spicy and sweet and crunchy and tender and perfect. Like ever. And I likely will... More

This place was recommended to us for lunch and we were pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere is that of an average fast food restaurant but the food is quite good and you get a lot for cheap. We ended up eating here 3 times. The burgers are huge, the sandwiches have more filling than bread, and the teriyaki chicken - so... More

we never got to eat here the last time we were in town but a local told us it was very good. This trip we made a point of going there and he was correct! it is a local cafe with all different kinds of food. Order at the counter and then sit down. Very casual but everything was delicious!

Not worth going out of your way for - but this is a great little spot to get lunch either coming or going from the airport. We had the Korean Chicken plate lunch which was solid. Worth a stop if your'e in the area.

Ok breakfast on the way from Kona airport at 6 in the morning. Nothing special, but was cheap and tasty.

Based on the recommendation of a local, we stopped here for lunch on the way to our flight home. It is very close to the Kona airport. The menu is pretty diverse with lots of options. Service was friendly. But the food (which is the most important part of a restaurant experience) was just OK--not too spectacular.

Reviewed this place as so-so several years ago. Was not overly impressed then as other reviewers and less impressed now. True, they serve a lot of locals, are close to the airport. But I wonder if it's popularity is because there isn't any other place around. Order at the counter, grab a table and wait to pick up your order.... More
