This is our family's favorite local restaurant, and where we take most of our visiting friends and family, especially if they're vegetarian. Martha, the owner, is the most gracious hostess ever, and Jebena has maintained its quality despite her battle with cancer over the past many years. One of their combo platters easily serves two, which makes it a great... More

My daughter and granddaughter had never experienced Ethiopian food. So we agreed to try the Jebena Cafe. Although I had eaten at the other Ethiopian restaurant nearby this would be our first visit to the Jebena Cafe in the Northgate neighborhood of Seattle. I was glad to have an excuse to visit this restaurant as I had heard many good... More

This is a very nice Ethiopian restaurant. The service is the excellent and the owner is very friendly. The injera is not too sour and the veggies are very fresh. The fried fish is delicious. The vegetarian combo was excellent. The food tastes homemade not oily, and there's a lot of variety of lentils and greens. There's a salad, spinach,... More

The interior of this restaurant is green, warm and inviting, as are the owners. The food is expertly prepared, delicious, and has good presentation. The amount of Injera is amazingly generous. I had the Qey Wot, the beef tibs, red and yellow lentils, and spinach. Everything was delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant. Pay attention when you are getting there,... More

As a family of 3 we split the meat combo and had the fried injera appetizer. All were amazing and the owner came to talk to us.

We loved the warm, casual and unpretentious atmosphere here. The food was fresh and very flavorful -- lots of spice and no watered-down heat. The owners were very kind and welcoming. No pushiness - we felt like we could have lingered forever talking. They make gluten-free injera with only teff flour (some places use buckwheat or other flours in addition... More

We have been to Jebena quite a few times. We kind of stumbled on it, as it is a short way back from the main road. We have never had anything but an exceptional experience. The food is great (especially the doro wat and the Kitfa) and the staff is sooo friendly. I never thought I would like Ethiopian food,... More
