Slightly damp smell was a bit distracting. Service was okay, but food was average and somewhat bland.

The food was mediocre. However, the service was fast, friendly and good. I had muscles and frites. The muscles were fine, big Taylor Shellfish muscles, but the fries were uninspired.
Arrive early if you want to avoid the wait. The menu rotates and always provides new dishes to try as well as the core that are great standards. personal favorites: El Hefe. Biscuits and gravy. Scramble with spinach and goat cheese. Tried the special today - great grits. But the dish was lacking. This is a rarity. Husband ordered corned... More
Love this place! Coastal Kitchen has one of the best brunches in Seattle with hearty food and amazing Bloody Marys (Mimosas are always good, too). This is a great place for families with kids as the place is on the loud side, kids won't disrupt anyone's conversations. Wait staff is friendly and very accommodating. Show up Early as this place... If Seattle is supposedly "known" for it's seafood, how could this place have been so bad. Oyster shooters had a funky odor and small shell chips. Cuban Pete's Shipwreck (version of Paella) had seafood cooked so long that it was rubbery. My wife had their Alaska Cod and Chips which was so greasy that when pierced with a fork oil... More
Visiting our son in Seattle and he took us to a restaurant he frequents. The Coastal Kitchen was delightful. We each had a different seafood dish and they were awesome. The sauces were outstanding. The desserts were delicious.
With an open kitchen, an oyster bar and a monthly cultural theme that they design their specials around, Coastal Kitchen is both an engaging and delicious experience! Try their breakfasts particularly on the weekends!
We have stayed at a B&B in this neighborhood many times and eaten at many of the restaurants nearby. This has become our favorite....great wine choices, outstanding seafood, best burger/fries, etc. and the wait staff is outstanding. They really make your dining experience special. Fine atmosphere and loads of specials. Can't miss!
We spent a week in the neighborhood and ended up here 3 different times - once for lunch, dinner, and drinks - each great. It seems to always be full and lively; has friendly staff and excellent no frills seafood. One recommendation is to enjoy their Tuesday nights oyster special at $1.50 each. A great neighborhood spot that is well... More
Need to knows: Go on Tuesday Street parking is annoying but totally do-able (check the time for load zones, some of them are open parking after 6) I have come here for their oyster specials on Tuesdays a few times. Right now you can get oysters on Tuesdays for a buck apiece from 3-11pm. The service is quick and attentive.... More
