So good, we came back the next day for more! Cute, quaint and nice proprietors. Prefer the raw oysters and medium level champagne.

I found this place when a friend suggested it for a birthday dinner. It is a very small, but cozy restaurant tucked into downtown Anchorage. I wasn't sure what to expect from a place that only serves oysters and champagne. It sounded like an awfully limited menu. I was pleasantly surprised to find a feast of seafood. Numerous options for... More

The reviews that talk about the owner being salty are spot on. The guy is down right rude. In fact, on the day we visited he over-heard me mention to the bartender that TripAdvisor had the place listed as "closed" and his reply to me was "Who uses TripAdvisor, everyone uses Yelp now, no one cares about TripAdvisor anymore." Beyond... More

This cozy unique champagne and oyster bar has been in downtown Anchorage for 4 years and I am only just hearing about it! Better late than never. The place is tiny, intimate. You sit on wooden bar stools at a small bar or in front of the window along D Street. The walls are littered with bottles of French champagnes.... More

Great little hidden treasure. Wonderful place filled with good people, an amazing selection of both champagne & oysters. If this place was in my home town my husband and I would be regulars. This will be our first stop next time we are in Anchorage. If you haven't been and you love oysters, champagne or both, this needs to be... More

In town for a convention I happened across this hidden gem. As all other reviews report ...small and intimate. Where they shine...their impeccable knowledge of champagne and numerous hot or cold prep of oysters. Yes, it's expensive, but if you're looking for an education in "bubbly", an opportunity to try champagne that you otherwise would be dissuaded by the price... More

I travel a lot and I eat out at great restaurants. If you want a glass of Grand cru champagne at almost any restaurant from New York to Los Angeles you have to buy a whole bottle. Not at the Bubbly Mermaid where you buy the great bubbly by the glass. The menu is simple....fresh oysters and champagne...served in an... More

Intimate! Cozy! Friendly! Delicious! I've never really been to an oyster and champagne bar before, and I have to admit I went having reservations about what I was getting into. I had been told Bubbly Mermaid had a limited menu, so I didn't expect a smorgasbord feast. So I was pleasantly surprised to find a feast of seafood. I had... More

First its a tiny place. Several chairs around a small bow (boat) shaped bar, that you can quite easily talk to the people across the counter. If you go, you will certainly soon be chatting with others in the restaurant. It's all about the oysters and champagne here. Huge selection of both. All oysters are from AK. There were probably...
