There is a selection of “hidden gem” restaurants in L’Isle sur la Sorgue and Le Carre D’Herbes is more hidden than the others. It is tucked away at the far end of a yard used mostly by antique dealers. But it is worth searching out. It has lots of outside seating, beautifully lit as darkness falls. It is a convivial,... We had the prix fixe so it came with a starter, main and dessert. We were very happy with our meals and the ambiance could not have been better. Lovely experience, terrific service and excellent food.

We were recommended Le Carre d'Herbes and luckily managed to get a table for dinner, where we sat in a lovely, quirky setting in what seemed to be an old avery in the garden. Very innovative menu; great food with the only minor negative being the somewhat off-hand service. Otherwise, a really enjoyable overall experience, and we would certainly go... More

We ate at a 3 star Michelin rated restaurant a few days before this place and honestly I can say that the quality of the dishes are up there. I had the tomato tartare, breast and tartalette and all three dishes were delicious. Fantastic place hidden away and price wise very reasonable and interestingly presented.

This restaurant was recommended to us by the owner of the Maison sur la Sorgue boutique hotel where we were staying. It's located in an artsy area across from the public garden - a large park with activities for families lots of spots to relax, look at the waterwheels and listen to the river. It is down a short alley... More

Review from April 2015: My husband now ordered his new beloved aperitif, Pastis, and I had a Kir. My husband had a really interesting starter of an asparagus pannacotta, full of spring, and I had a wonderful slice of fois gras pate with a rhubarb compote. We were off to a great start! The plats (main courses) were somewhat disappointing... More

Who would have thought that you would eat one of the best meals ever off a rusty table in a garden surrounded by rusty fences! We would never have found le Carré if our friends had not taken us there, it is part of an antique centre off the main street opposite the magnificent savings bank. The staff were very... More

I had a wonderful 2 weeks in France, but I really had a hard time finding decent food. This place offered some nice beef dishes and decent service.

This restaurant was recommended to us by the owner of La Maison Sur La Sorgue. My husband ordered an egg appetizer and thought it was one of the best things he had ever eaten. We loved eating in the garden surrounded by flora. The staff were friendly and smiled at our less than impressive French.
